The Marquette Golden Eagles men's soccer program represents the Marquette University in all NCAA Division I men's college soccer competitions. Founded in 1964, the Golden Eagles compete in the Big East Conference. The Golden Eagles are coached by Louis Bennett. Marquette plays their home matches at Valley Fields. The 2012 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament is a single-elimination tournament involving 48 teams to determine the champion of the 2012 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. Conference USA
Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas. History C-USA was founded in 1995 by the merger of the Metro Conference and Great Midwest Conference, two Division I conferences that did not sponsor football. However, the merger did not include either Great Midwest member Dayton or Metro members VCU and Virginia Tech. Since this left an uneven number of schools in the conference, Houston of the dissolving Southwest Conference was extended an invitation and agreed to join following the SWC's disbanding at the end of the 1995–96 academic year. Valley Fields
Valley Fields is a 1,750-seat outdoor stadium and practice facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, primarily used by the varsity men's and women's soccer and lacrosse teams at Marquette University, all of which compete in the Big East Conference. The complex houses bleachers, locker rooms, practice fields and a main stadium. Facilities The complex opened in 1993 as soccer stadium, but renovations to the turf and the addition of locker rooms have taken place since. The complex is named for its location in the Menomonee Valley, which sits along the banks of the Menomonee River in downtown Milwaukee, south of the main Marquette University campus and north of the Potawatomi Hotel & Casino complex.
