Markíza (also known as Televízia Markíza) is a Slovak television channel launched on August 31, 1996. The channel was founded by a later politician Pavol Rusko, and is now part of the Central European Media Enterprises (CME). It also operates television channels Doma (since 2009), Dajto (since 2012), Markíza International (since 2016) and Markíza KRIMI (since 2022). TV Markíza has built its programming strategy around family entertainment to reflect Slovakia's culture. Reaching more than 92% of Slovak households, TV Markíza is the clear leader on the national TV landscape. Broadcasting 24 hours a day, TV Markíza is the flagship television channel encompassing all TV genres. Central European Media Enterprises Ltd. (CME) is a media and entertainment company that operates television channels in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. ''SuperStar Search Slovakia'' ( sk, Slovensko hľadá SuperStar) is a casting television show based on the popular British show ''Pop Idol''. ''SuperStar'' (previously known as ''Česko Slovenská SuperStar'') is a joint Czech- Slovak version of the Idol series' ''Pop Idol''. It was merged from '' Česko hledá SuperStar'' and ''SuperStar Search Slovakia'', which previously had three individual seasons each. The first season premiered in September 2009 with castings held in Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Košice. ''Supernanny'' is a British reality television programme about parents struggling with their children's behaviour, mealtime, potty training, etc. The show features professional nanny Jo Frost, who devotes each episode to helping a family where the parents are struggling with child-rearing. ''The Chase'' is a British television quiz show broadcast on ITV1 and hosted by Bradley Walsh. Contestants play against a professional quizzer, known as the "chaser", who attempts to prevent them from winning a cash prize. The six chasers are Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis.
