Luxembourg–United States relations are the bilateral relations between the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the United States of America. The strong relationship is expressed both bilaterally and through common membership in NATO, OECD, and the OSCE. Luxembourgish Americans are Americans of Luxembourgish ancestry. According to the United States' 2000 census, there were 45,139 Americans of full or partial Luxembourgish descent. The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg has long been a prominent supporter of European political and economic integration. Luxembourg Brotherhood Of America
The Luxembourg Brotherhood of America, (L.B.A.) is the oldest Luxembourg-American organization in the United States. It was founded in 1887 as a fraternal organization on Chicago's south side. Today, it consists of four sections located in the Chicago area and is dedicated to maintaining strong ties between the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and its American emigrants and their descendants. The L.B.A. offers friendship, camaraderie and celebrations for those of Luxembourg heritage, family, friends, and those interested in the Luxembourg culture. Tom Barrett (Wisconsin Politician)
Thomas Mark Barrett (born December 8, 1953) is an American diplomat and politician who served as the United States ambassador to Luxembourg from 2022 to 2025. He previously served as the 44th mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 2004 until 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, he was previously elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly (1984–1989), Wisconsin Senate (1989–1993) and U.S. House of Representatives (1993–2003). On April 6, 2004, Milwaukee elected Tom Barrett as its 40th mayor. He won reelection as mayor in 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. After having unsuccessfully sought the Democratic nomination for governor of Wisconsin in 2002, Barrett was the party's nominee for governor in both 2010 and 2012, losing both elections to Scott Walker.
