Leopold Football Club (MJFA) Players
The Leopold Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Lions'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Leopold, Victoria. The club teams currently compete in the regional Geelong Football Netball League. They play their home games at Leopold Memorial Park. History Originally a team from Leopold played in local competitions from 1897 to 1922. In 1923 they disbanded. In 1955 they reformed and entered into the Geelong & District Football League, Jarman Cup division. In 1963 they lost the Grand Final, both Grand Finalists were promoted to the Woolworths Cup. In 1964 they made the Woolworth Cup Grand Final but lost by a point. In 1965 the transferred into the Polwarth Football League. While in this league moves were made for a Bellarine Peninsula based football competition. In 1971 they were one of the founding clubs of the Bellarine Football League. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Tim Boyle (Australian Footballer)
Tim Boyle (born 28 January 1984) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League. His career was plagued by injuries. Originally from Leopold Football Club and the Geelong Falcons, Boyle attended Bellarine Secondary College and was drafted by Hawthorn at the 2002 AFL Draft. In 2004 he broke his leg in a freak pre-season training drill injury, and in 2005 a torn hamstring limited him to just three games. In 2006 Boyle again struggled to feature, managing just two senior games. Boyle performed better in 2007, playing 20 games and kicking 32 goals as a "third tall" forward. A hamstring injury reduced his effectiveness in the latter part of the season. Boyle started 2008 solidly, kicking 2 goals in each of the first 2 rounds. Luke Dahlhaus
Luke Dahlhaus (born 21 August 1992) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Geelong Football Club and Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). He received a nomination for the 2011 AFL Rising Star award in round 21 of the 2011 season. Dahlhaus was a member of the Bulldogs team that won the premiership in 2016, the Bulldogs' first in 62 years. Clint Bartram
Clinton "Clint" Bartram (born 18 February 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited from the Geelong Falcons, after growing up in Leopold. Bartram was recruited by Melbourne at pick 60 in the 2005 AFL National Draft. Bartram is a small (183 cm), running midfield/defender player who was used as a tagger in the 2006 season. He made his debut in round one of the 2006 season against Carlton and kicked a goal in his first match. Tony Brown (born 28 May 1977) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who has played in the Australian Football League (AFL) and the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). He had to make the choice between cricket and football after representing Victoria in under age cricket. Originally from the Geelong Falcons, Brown was drafted by St Kilda Football Club at the 1994 AFL Draft and made his senior AFL debut in 1995.
