Kärkölä () is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. In the late 19th century, the eccentric engineer named Carl Constantin Collin, who ruled over large areas of both Hollola and Kärkölä, built large parks and building groups in the Huovila area. Järvelä, Kärkölä
Järvelä is the largest village in the Kärkölä, Kärkölä municipality and the municipality's administrative center in Päijänne Tavastia, Finland. At the end of 2014, about 2,800 inhabitants lived there. As a statistical agglomeration defined by Statistics Finland, Järvelä also covers the church village of Kärkölä. Järvelä is located along the railway between Lahti and Riihimäki and by road at the intersection of Finnish national road 54, main road 54 and regional road 295. All commuter trains between Lahti and Riihimäki stop at Järvelä railway station. In addition to settlement, there are many different companies in the area, such as grocery stores, filling station, hardware store, pharmacy, Alko store, restaurants, Järvelän Kino Movie theater, cinema, post office, bank and car repair shops. Lappila
Lappila is a village of Kärkölä municipality in Päijänne Tavastia, Finland. Its population is about 600. The village is located along the Riihimäki–Lahti railway, along which VR's regional trains stop at Lappila railway station. From the north, Lappila is bypassed by the main road 54, on the north side of which the Teuronjoki River flows near Lappila. Lappila is the youngest of the villages of Kärkölä, inhabited only in the 16th and 17th centuries, being before that Vanaja' hunting ground; in the Kalmberg map of 1855–1856, the village is mentioned as "Lappila by" and there are three houses. A primary school was built in Lappila in the 1890s and opened in 1898. Teaching was transferred in 1951 to a new stone school, which was closed in 2012. The wooden school later housed a library. Hausjärvi is a municipality of Finland. Its seat is in Oitti. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Tavastia Proper region. The municipality has a population of () and covers an area of of which is water. The population density is . Geographically, and to some extent politically, Hausjärvi is characterized by its three population centres, Hikiä (population 1,055), Oitti (population 1,855) and Ryttylä (population 1,595).
