Kupchyntsi, Ternopil Oblast
Купчинці ( uk, Kupchyntsi) is a village in Kupchyntsi rural hromada, Ternopil Raion, Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine. History The first written mention dates back to 1312. In the village there was also a castle built in the 17th century, which has not survived to this day. Oblasts Of Ukraine
An oblast ( uk, о́бласть; ) in Ukraine, often called a region or province, is the main type of first-level administrative division of the country. Ukraine's territory is divided into 24 oblasts, as well as one autonomous republic, Crimea, and two cities with special status, Kyiv and Sevastopol. Ukraine is a unitary state, thus the oblasts do not have much legal scope of competence other than that which is established in the Ukrainian Constitution and by law. Articles 140–146 of Chapter XI of the constitution deal directly with local authorities and their competency. Mike Mazurki (December 25, 1907 – December 9, 1990) was a Ukrainian-American actor and professional wrestler who appeared in more than 142 films. His 6 ft 5 in (196 cm) presence and face had him typecast as often brainless athletes, tough guys, thugs, and gangsters. Maidan Casualties
Maidan casualties, known in Ukraine as the Heavenly Hundred ( uk, Небесна сотня, ''Nebesna sotnya''; or "Heavenly Company"), are people who were killed during the 2014 Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity, part of the wider Euromaidan movement, and the early phase of the Russo-Ukrainian War. The list includes 130 identified individuals from both sides of the conflict who died during the events, including 18 police officers who were killed by protesters. The majority of those killed were civilians who supported the revolution. On 21 February, Verkhovna Rada recognized the perished protesters as victims. Ivan Yakovych Franko (Ukrainian: Іван Якович Франко, pronounced ˈwɑn ˈjɑkowɪtʃ frɐnˈkɔ 27 August 1856 – 28 May 1916) was a Ukrainian poet, writer, social and literary critic, journalist, interpreter, economist, political activist, doctor of philosophy, ethnographer, and the author of the first detective novels and modern poetry in the Ukrainian language. Kozova Raion
Kozova Raion () was a raion in Ternopil Oblast of western Ukraine. The administrative center was the town of Kozova. Its area was 694 km². The raion was abolished on 18 July 2020 as part of the administrative reform of Ukraine, which reduced the number of raions of Ternopil Oblast to three.
