Kocaelispor Footballers
Kocaelispor is a Turkish soccer, football club based in İzmit. They were founded in 1966 and played in the Süper Lig, top level between 1980–1988 and 1992–2003. Their best finish was in 1992–93 season, where they finished fourth. They have won the Turkish Cup twice, in 1997 and 2002. On 8 January 2015, in front of 20,152 spectators, Kocaelispor set a record for the highest attendance at a Turkish Regional Amateur League encounter. Kocaeli Stadium or İzmit Stadium is a stadium in İzmit, Turkey. It was opened to public in 2018 with a capacity of 34,712 spectators. It is the new home of Kocaelispor. Güvenç Kurtar (born 25 July 1959) is a Turkish football manager and former forward who most recently worked as head coach for Gümüşhanespor. Bülent Uygun (born 1 August 1971) is a Turkish football manager and former player. He played as an attacking midfielder after starting his career as a striker, and was the captain of Fenerbahçe. His nickname is ''The Soldier''. Playing career He began his career with Sakaryaspor at youth level, and went on to sign professionally for Kocaelispor in 1989.
