Neckar-Odenwald
Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the north of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from east clockwise) Main-Tauber-Kreis, Hohenlohe-Kreis, Heilbronn, Rhein-Neckar-Kreis, Odenwaldkreis (Hesse) and Landkreis Miltenberg (Bavaria). The district is part of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region. History The district was created in 1973 by merging the previous districts Buchen and Mosbach. At first it was named ''Odenwaldkreis'', however to avoid confusion with the neighboring district in Hesse with the same name it was renamed in 1974 to be ''Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis''. Pforzheim
Pforzheim () is a city of over 125,000 inhabitants in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg, in the southwest of Germany. It is known for its jewelry and watch-making industry, and as such has gained the nickname "Goldstadt" ("Golden City"). With an area of , it is situated between the cities of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe at the confluence of three rivers (Enz, Nagold and Würm). The Rhein-Neckar-Kreis is a district in the northwest of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The administrative headquarters are based in the city Heidelberg, which is a district-free city. As of 2019, the district is the most populous in Baden-Württemberg. History The district was created in 1973 by merging the previous districts of Heidelberg, Mannheim and Sinsheim. Geography The district is named after the two main rivers which flow through the district, the Rhine and Neckar. Rastatt is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the west of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighbouring districts are (from north clockwise) Karlsruhe, Calw, Freudenstadt and the Ortenaukreis. To the west it borders the French ''département'' Bas-Rhin. Rastatt completely surrounds the district-free city Baden-Baden.
