James Christian Charters (born 18 January 1988), better known as Ironik (formerly as DJ Ironik), is a British musician, DJ and rapper. His genre of music varies from hip hop, grime, R&B and UK garage. DJ Ironik was born in London. DJ Ironik has had three UK top 10 hits; Stay With Me charted at No. 5, Tiny Dancer (Hold Me Closer) charted at No. 3 and also I Got Soul, a charity single which reached No. 10 in the UK charts and has also had several top 5 hits in other European countries. Early life "DJ Ironik" (born James Charters) was born in North London to a Jamaican Father and a half English half Zimbabwean Mother. He decided on a career in music at an early age when doing GCSE in music. He first began to DJ at age 12, and started to produce at age 15. Highgate ( ) is a suburban area of north London at the northeastern corner of Hampstead Heath, north-northwest of Charing Cross. Highgate is one of the most expensive London suburbs in which to live. Stay With Me (Ironik Song)
"Stay with Me" (sometimes subtitled "Everybody's Free") is the first single from Ironik's debut album ''No Point in Wasting Tears''. The song peaked at number five on the UK Singles Chart. Song information The song was written for his younger sister. There was a message in the lyrics for her; Ironik said "With all these people dying, if anything happens to me, there's a message in it for her." The track was produced by Alex James Sparks and samples lyrics of the song "Everybody's Free (To Feel Good)" by Quindon Tarver, which is a cover of the Rozalla hit " Everybody's Free". It also heavily samples the song "Written in the Stars" by Westlife, used as the main melody and for the chorus. Both samples are high-pitched. The single was released in both a one-track version and an enhanced 6-track CD, with 5 remixes of the song as well as the radio edit. MOBO Awards
The MOBO Awards (Music of Black Origin, also known as the MOBOs) are an annual British music award presentation honouring achievements in " music of black origin", including hip hop, grime, UK Drill, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music. The MOBO Organisation was founded by Kanya King, and the first MOBO award was presented to Baby D, in the Best Dance Act category.
