Kenneth Hahn
Kenneth Hahn (August 19, 1920 – October 12, 1997) was a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for forty years, from 1952 to 1992. Hahn was on the Los Angeles City Council from 1947 to 1952. He was an ardent supporter of civil rights throughout the 1960s, and met Martin Luther King Jr. in 1961. Early life Hahn was born August 19, 1920, in Los Angeles, the son of Hattie Louise (Wiggins) of Nottawa, Canada, and John Heinrich Hahn. The couple moved from Saskatchewan to Los Angeles in 1919, and Hahn's father died just a few months later. The couple had seven sons—Henry, John, Allan, Louis, George, Gordon and Kenneth. He went to public schools in Los Angeles, including John Muir Junior High School and Fremont High School, class of 1938. He graduated from Pepperdine College in 1942. John Hailey
John Hailey (August 29, 1835 – April 10, 1921) was a Congressional Delegate from Idaho Territory. He was born in Smith County, Tennessee, and attended the public schools. Of Scottish ancestry, his grandfather, Philip Hailey, and his father, John Hailey, were both natives of Virginia. His father married Miss Nancy Baird, a native of Tennessee, the daughter of Captain Josiah Baird, who had been a captain in the War of 1812. He moved in 1848 to Missouri with his parents, who settled in Dade County. Hailey crossed the plains emigrating to Oregon in 1853. He enlisted as a private on the outbreak of the Rogue River Indian War in 1855 and was subsequently promoted to lieutenant. John married Louisa M. Griffin on August 7, 1856 in Jackson County, Oregon, and they would have six children including Thomas G. Hailey who would serve in the Oregon Supreme Court. William Henry Haile (September 23, 1833 – February 13, 1901) was an American businessman and politician who served as the Mayor of Springfield, Massachusetts in 1881, and as the 35th Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1890 to 1893. William Haile (New Hampshire Politician)
William Haile (May 1807July 22, 1876) was an American merchant, manufacturer and politician who served as the 26th governor of New Hampshire. Biography Haile was born in Putney, Vermont in May 1807. He was educated in the local schools of Putney, and as a teenager he moved to Chesterfield, New Hampshire to work in a store and learn the mercantile business. Haile's later operated his own store, which he later moved to Hinsdale, and he established Haile, Frost and Company, a business that produced flannel cloth and clothing items. Originally a Democrat with nativist and antislavery views, Haile served in the New Hampshire House of Representatives from 1846 to 1850, and in 1853 and 1856. He was a member of the New Hampshire State Senate from 1854 to 1856, and was senate president in 1855. Jon Meade Huntsman Jr. (born March 26, 1960) is an American businessman, diplomat and politician who served as the 16th Governor of Utah from 2005 to 2009.
