Gölbaşı, Ankara
Gölbaşı is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Ankara Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,364 km2, and its population is 150,047 (2022). It is south of the city of Ankara. Its elevation is . The district includes the Lake Mogan, Mogan and Lake Eymir, Eymir lakes. Although the lakes are polluted and infested with mosquitoes, the picnic areas and lakeside restaurants of Gölbaşı serve as a popular retreat from the city for the people of Ankara. A number of government departments have accommodations here, and the town is slowly but surely joining up with the city as the green space between the two disappears. Türk Telekom have their satellite ground control in the area. Lake Mogan
Lake Mogan (, also called ''Gölbaşı Gölü'') is a small lake in Ankara Province, Turkey. Geography The lake is south of the Ankara city center within the intracity district of Gölbaşı, Ankara, Gölbaşı. The eastern shore lies along the highway State road D.750 (Turkey), D.750 which traverses Turkey from north to south. The altitude of the water surface with respect to sea level is about and the surface area of the lake is about . It has a circumferential length of 14 kilometers with a length of 11 km. and an average width of 500 meters. The average depth of the lake (in wet season) is about 5 meters. Geology The lake is an alluvial set lake. The tributaries are rivulets with irregular flowrates. Türksat Satellite Communications Cable TV and Operations Incorporated () is the sole communications satellite operator in Turkey.
