Garfield County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 61,685. The county seat is Glenwood Springs. The county is named in honor of United States President James A. Garfield. Garfield County is included in the Glenwood Springs, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Edwards-Glenwood Springs, CO Combined Statistical Area. Uintah County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2020 United States Census the population was 35,620. Its county seat and largest city is Vernal. The county was named for the portion of the Ute Indian tribe that lived in the basin. Uintah County is the largest natural gas producer in Utah, with 272 billion cubic feet produced in 2008. The Vernal, UT Micropolitan Statistical Area includes all of Uintah County. History Archeological evidence suggests that portions of the Uinta Basin have been inhabited by Archaic peoples and Fremont peoples. State Highway 325 (SH 325) is a state highway in Garfield County, Colorado, United States, that connects Colorado State Highway 13 (SH 13), north of Rifle, with Rifle Mountain Park. Route description SH 325 runs , starting at a junction with SH 13 north of Rifle. The highway goes north to Rifle Gap State Park. From there it follows East Rifle Creek east and then north to Rifle Falls State Park. After passing the falls it continues north along the creek, ending at the entrance to Rifle Mountain Park. State Highway 139 (SH 139) is a state highway in western Colorado, United States. SH 139's southern terminus is at Interstate 70 (I-70) in Loma, and the northern terminus is at SH 64 in Rangely. Route description SH 139 begins in the south at exit 15 of I-70 at Loma roughly fifteen miles west of Grand Junction. Just north of I-70 the road intersects U.S. Route 6/ US 50. From there the road proceeds northward through very remote, very sparsely populated land to its northern end at SH 64 at Rangely. There are no significant settlements for the road's entire length. State Highway 133 (SH 133) is a long north–south byway connecting SH 92 to the south and SH 82 to the north, and travels through the towns of Hotchkiss, Somerset, Redstone, and Carbondale. State Highway 82 (SH 82) is an state highway in the U.S. state of Colorado. Its western half provides the principal transportation artery of the Roaring Fork Valley on the Colorado Western Slope, beginning at Interstate 70 (I-70) and U.S. Highway 6 (US 6) in Glenwood Springs southeast past Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen. From there it continues up the valley to cross the Continental Divide at Independence Pass. State Highway 13 (SH 13) in the U.S. state of Colorado is a north–south mountain route that travels from Rifle to the Wyoming border near Baggs, Wyoming, through the Rocky Mountains. Route description The route begins at a diamond interchange with Interstate 70 south of Rifle. It then crosses the Colorado River and intersects U.S. Highway 6 at the south side of Rifle. Along the north side of town the road turns slightly northeastward as it passes through the northern Rifle and into grassland, where it intersects State Highway 325. As the road turns back northward and then slightly northwestward, the surrounding terrain turns into a more barren land dotted with occasional shrubs and grass.
