The Finnish Women's Curling Championship is the national championship of women's curling in Finland. It has been held annually since 1994. From 1994 until 1998 it was known as the Finnish Cup. Since 1999 the Finnish championship team has been determined by the winning team of the Finnish Women's Championships league. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. A game usually consists of eight or ten ends. The player can induce a curved path, described as ''curl'', by causing the stone to slowly rotate as it slides. Sanna Puustinen
Sanna Puustinen (born 24 March 1988; in marriage also known as Sanna Piilo) is a Finnish curler. Puustinen grew up in Hyvinkää but lives in Helsinki. Puustinen has represented Finland in four European Curling Championships. She was an alternate at her first European Championships in 2005. She didn't play in any games, and the team placed 10th. She played in 2011 European Curling Championships as fourth player with Heidi Hossi, and Eszter Juhász team skipped by Oona Kauste, and placed 12th (8-1 in the B Division). The team returned to the Euros at the 2013 European Curling Championships, with new lead Marjo Hipp. The team finished in 11th place, winning the B Division, and promoting Finland to the A Division of the 2014 European Curling Championships. The Finnish Junior Curling Championships is the national championships of men's and women's junior curling teams in Finland. Junior level curlers must be under the age of 21. Oona Kauste
Oona Kauste (born 4 January 1988, in Espoo) is a Finnish curler from Helsinki. She is currently the skip of the Finnish National Women's team. Career Women's Kauste has represented Finland in seven European Curling Championships. She was an alternate at her first European Championships in 2009. The team, skipped by Ellen Vogt placed 8th. She played second and as a skip at the 2011 European Curling Championships, placing 12th. She returned the following year playing third for Anne Malmi, placing 10th. She returned to the Euros at the 2013 European Curling Championships playing second for Puustinen. The team finished in 11th place, winning the B Division, and promoting Finland to the A Division of the 2014 European Curling Championships. There, the team finished with a 5–4 record, and a 6th-place finish. This qualified Finland for the 2015 World Women's Curling Championship.
