Euskotren 200 Series
The Euskotren 200 series is an electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by Euskotren in the Basque Country, Spain from 1986 to 2018. History The trains were ordered by Euskotren in 1983, with the first unit being delivered in 1985. They entered service on 1 February 1986, originally in the Bilbao-Plentzia line, where they replaced the rolling stock inherited from FTS. The trains had been intended for use in the Bilbao metro (which took over most of the Bilbao-Plentzia railway), but ultimately new trains were built for it. Thus, with the opening of the metro in 1995, the trains were transferred to the Txorierri, Urdaibai and Bilbao-San Sebastián lines. The trains were built entirely in the Basque Country: the motor cars by CAF in Beasain, the non-powered cars by Babcock & Wilcox in Sestao and the electrical equipment by Westingouse in Erandio. The 20 trains originally consisted of 3 cars each. In 1996, 10 of them had a fourth car added, with the tree-car trains ...

Tram In Bilbao
A tram (called a streetcar or trolley in North America) is a rail vehicle that travels on tramway tracks on public urban streets; some include segments on segregated right-of-way. The tramlines or networks operated as public transport are called tramways or simply trams/streetcars. Many recently built tramways use the contemporary term light rail. The vehicles are called streetcars or trolleys (not to be confused with trolleybus) in North America and trams or tramcars elsewhere. The first two terms are often used interchangeably in the United States, with ''trolley'' being the preferred term in the eastern US and ''streetcar'' in the western US. ''Streetcar'' or ''tramway'' are preferred in Canada. In parts of the United States, internally powered buses made to resemble a streetcar are often referred to as "trolleys". To avoid further confusion with trolley buses, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) refers to them as "trolley-replica buses". In the United ...

CAF Urbos
The CAF Urbos is a family of trams, streetcars, and light rail vehicles built by CAF. The Basque manufacturer CAF previously manufactured locomotives, passenger cars, regional, and underground trains. In 1993, CAF started building trams for Metrovalencia, with the delivery of 16 trams until 1999. This was a variant of a Siemens design and some components were delivered by Siemens, including bogies and traction motors. This design was also sold to Lisbon Trams in 1995; CAF then decided to design and build the Urbos in-house. There are three generations of the CAF Urbos, namely the Urbos 1, Urbos 2, and Urbos 3. The first generation was ordered by the Bilbao tram operator, who received eight trams between 2002 and 2004. The second generation was sold to other operators in Spain, and the third generation is sold in Spain, elsewhere in Europe, the United States, Australia and in the UK. Manufacturing locations include Beasain, Zaragoza and Linares, Spain; Elmira, New York, USA; Ho ...

Ecuador
Ecuador ( ; ; Quechua: ''Ikwayur''; Shuar: ''Ecuador'' or ''Ekuatur''), officially the Republic of Ecuador ( es, República del Ecuador, which literally translates as "Republic of the Equator"; Quechua: ''Ikwadur Ripuwlika''; Shuar: ''Ekuatur Nunka''), is a country in northwestern South America, bordered by Colombia on the north, Peru on the east and south, and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Ecuador also includes the Galápagos Islands in the Pacific, about west of the mainland. The country's capital and largest city is Quito. The territories of modern-day Ecuador were once home to a variety of Indigenous groups that were gradually incorporated into the Inca Empire during the 15th century. The territory was colonized by Spain during the 16th century, achieving independence in 1820 as part of Gran Colombia, from which it emerged as its own sovereign state in 1830. The legacy of both empires is reflected in Ecuador's ethnically diverse population, with most of its mill ...

Empresa De Ferrocarriles Ecuatorianos
The Ferrocarriles del Ecuador Empresa Pública (Ecuadorian Railways Company) is the national railway of Ecuador. The railway system was devised to connect the Pacific coast with the Andean highlands. After many decades of service the railway was severely damaged by heavy rainfall during the El Niño in 1997 and 1998 and from general neglect as the Pan-American Highway siphoned off passengers.Haines, Gavin,Ecuador’s long-neglected railway system chugs back to life; its founder Eloy Alfaro would be proud" ''Cuenca High Life,'' 3 June 2013. Retrieved 8 May 2016. In 2008 the president Rafael Correa named the railroad a "national cultural patrimony" and indicated that it would be restored. The government of Ecuador started to rehabilitate the railway and service was restored between Guayaquil and Quito by 2013. An extensive range of services, primarily for leisure travellers, were operated by steam and diesel-electric locomotive hauled trains and by autoferros (bus bodies mounted ...

Electro-diesel Locomotive
An electro-diesel locomotive (also referred to as a dual-mode or bi-mode locomotive) is a type of locomotive that can be powered either from an electricity supply (like an electric locomotive) or by using the onboard diesel engine (like a diesel-electric locomotive). For the most part, these locomotives are built to serve regional, niche markets with a very specific purpose. Overview Electro-diesel locomotives are used to provide continuous journeys along routes that are only partly electrified without a change of locomotive, avoid extensive running of ''diesel under the wires'' (using a diesel locomotive where electrified lines are available), and giving solution where diesel engines are banned. They may be designed or adapted mainly for electric use, mainly for diesel use or to work well as either electric or diesel. Note that, as well as the electric multiple unit (EMU) and diesel multiple unit (DMU), where no discrete locomotive is present, an electro-diesel (bi-mode) ...

Euskotren TD2000 Series
The Euskotren TD2000 series is an electro-diesel locomotive type operated by Euskotren in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Country, Spain. History In 2006, Euskotren awarded Ingeteam the construction of 12 diesel-electric locomotives for 37.5 million euros. The first locomotives were delivered in early 2009, and entered service later that year. The purchase has been criticized due to the low usage of the locomotives, caused by an overestimation of Rail freight transport, rail freight demand. Due to lack of use, one of the locomotives was leased to Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, FGC from 2012 to 2017, where it served as the FGC 255 series. In 2015, three of the locomotives were converted to gauge and sold to Empresa de Ferrocarriles Ecuatorianos, FE EP, the national railway of Ecuador.
