Erakah is a New Zealand R&B and soul singer. In 2009, she featured on R&B singer J.Williams single "Your Style" of his album ''Young Love''. Inspired by Soul music Erakah states Alicia Keys, Lily Allen, Beyoncé and Brandy as influences on her musical style. She released her debut album, '' Infatuated'', on 21 March 2011. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. Mika's Aroha Mardi Gras
Mika's Aroha Mardi Gras was a 2011 concert show by Mika Haka. It was staged in Takutai Square, Auckland CBD, New Zealand on September 23 with two shows on the same day. The show was part of the New Zealand series of entertainment events that was put on for the 2011 Rugby World Cup. In mid October, Māori Television aired the concerts as a one-hour special. The show was edited from footage of the second performance of the evening. The shows were a free non ticketed event available to the public. Combining both 6pm and 8pm shows, a total of 15,000 attended the event. The show had over 680 people participating in the event, including 400 kids as part of the KA 400. The event was choreographed by Jay Tewake. Rena Owen was the presenter of the Televised special, presenting the show as a story teller. The Pacific Music Awards are an annual New Zealand music award ceremony since 2005 that honours excellence in Pacific music in New Zealand. The awards honour musicians who primarily work in the Pacific Island style of music from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Samoa, Tonga, Tokelau or Tuvalu, and also in urban and gospel genre categories. DJCXL, is a New Zealand hip hop DJ, producer and member of the band Ill Semantics. He was the 2003 NZ Disco Mix Club Champion. He has collaborated with many New Zealand and international artists on tracks including King Kapisi's "Second Round KO" and "Dazzling DJ" with Black Wall Street Japan's S.H.O..
