''Drag Race México'' is a Mexican reality competition television series based on the original American series ''RuPaul's Drag Race'' and part of the ''Drag Race'' franchise. It airs on MTV and Paramount+ in Mexico and Latin America, and on WOW Presents Plus internationally. ''Drag Race México'' is the thirteenth international adaptation of the American reality competition series ''RuPaul's Drag Race'', following Chilean, Thai, British, Canadian, Dutch, Australian and New Zealand, Spanish, Italian, French, Filipino, Belgian, and Swedish versions. It has been followed by Brazilian and German iterations. ''Drag Race México'' debuted on June 22, 2023, on Paramount+. Episodes premiere on a weekly basis every Thursday, and later aired on MTV on primetime. Cristian Peralta won the first season, with Gala Varo, Matraka and Regina Voce as runners-up, while Lady Kero was named Miss Congeniality. In July 2023, the series was renewed for a second season. Drag Race España
''Drag Race España'' (sometimes called ''Drag Race Spain'') is a Spanish reality competition streaming television series, produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Buendía Estudios and executive produced by World of Wonder. It is the Spanish adaptation of the ''Drag Race'' franchise. In a similar format to the American version, the show features a crop of Spanish drag queens as they compete for a grand prize of €30,000 and the title of "Spain's Next Drag Superstar". The series is airing on ATRESplayer Premium in Spain and on WOW Presents Plus elsewhere. The first season premiered on 30 May, and concluded on 25 July 2021. Matraka
Matraka is the stage name of Gerardo Reyes Toledo, a Mexican drag queen and contestant on the first season of ''Drag Race Mexico''. Matraka is from Purísima del Rincón, Guanajato, and identifies as Indigenous Mexican. Early life Matraka was born in Purísima del Rincón in 1998. His father is a cultural manager in Guanajuato and brought Reyes to Baile folklórico performances starting at an early age. In an interview with ''Periódico Correo'', Matraka said, "From the age of 5, my father regularly took me to cultural events such as folkloric ballet meetings in Guanajuato. Notably, an event named Viva la Magia, later known as Viva la Banda, left a significant impression on me. These were international events, exposing me to diverse perspectives on art and culture." Cristian Peralta is a Mexican drag performer and the winner of the first season of ''Drag Race México''. Career Peralta is a drag performer. She won the first season of ''Drag Race México'' (2023). On the first episode, she wore a "Tlaquepaque jug-inspired look that transformed into a folkloric dress" and won the challenge. She impersonated Verónica Castro for the Snatch Game challenge, and won five challenges overall before beating out three other finalists in the last episode.
