The Divizia A is the second level of the Romanian men's professional handball system. The league comprises twenty one teams. History This sport was first played in Romania in 1920. After a visit in Germany, a few physical education teachers introduced this sport in their classes. The ''Divizia A'' was founded in 1933 (in 11 players) and in 1958 in the current format with 7 players. The current champions are Știința Municipal Bacău (Seria A) and CSM Oradea (Seria B).Handbal: CSM Oradea a învins Universitatea Craiova, a promovat în Liga Națională, dar nu va fi înscrisă în primul eșalon!

The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. In 2012 the EHF Office celebrated 20 years since it first opened its doors. 2018–19 Divizia A (men's Handball)
The 2018–19 Divizia A is the 61st season of the Romanian men's handball second league. A total of 24 teams contested the league, being divided in four series, Seria A (6 teams), Seria B (7 teams), Seria C (5 teams) and Seria D (6 teams). The Liga I (; ''First League''), also spelled as Liga 1, is a Romanian professional league for men's association football clubs. Currently sponsored by betting company Superbet, it is officially known as the SuperLiga. It is the country's top football competition, being contested by 16 clubs which take part in a promotion and relegation system with the Liga II. The teams play 30 matches each in the regular season, before entering the championship play-offs or the relegation play-outs according to their position in the regular table.
