Ernest Côté
Ernest Adolphe Côté (12 June 1913 – 25 February 2015), was a Canadian soldier, diplomat and civil servant. Youth Côté was born in Edmonton, Alberta to French-Canadian parents. His parents were Senator Jean Côté and Cécile Côté (née Gagnon). Côté's father was a government land surveyor from Quebec who went west in 1903 to determine the frontier between Alaska and the Yukon, and he subsequently became active as a mining engineer in Alberta, enjoying much success in his field and then entered politics. Côté's mother came from a wealthy Quebec City family and she used her wealth to become a great patron of music, having help found the Ladies’ Morning Musical Club of Quebec City (now the ''Club musical de Québec'') and the Ladies’ Musical Club of Edmonton (now the Edmonton Musical Club). Patrick Côté (; born February 29, 1980) is a retired Canadian professional mixed martial artist. A professional from 2002 until 2017, Côté is perhaps best known for his 21-bout career in the UFC, and was a finalist on season four of The Ultimate Fighter. Background Côté was born in Rimouski, Québec, Canada, on February 29, 1980. Côté started his martial arts training in the Canadian Army at around age of 16, where he took up boxing and subsequently added muay thai, kickboxing and wrestling to his repertoire. Côté served in the army until 2005, when he started training full-time. Currently, he studies Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Fabio Holanda at BTT Canada. Héloïse Côté (born 1979) is a Québécoise author of fantasy novels and a researcher in the sciences of education. Biography Héloïse Côté began studying in 1998 for a Bachelor of Science in Education at Laval University in Quebec. Rather than teaching high school at the end of her undergraduate studies, as she had originally planned, she continued at Laval for her master's degree. She accumulated four annual citations on the honour roll of the Faculty of Education, and another on the honour roll of the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Côté also won the prize for the best Master's dissertation and the Raymond-Blais medal awarded by the Association of Laval University alumni to a recent graduate for the merit of her activities. Jean-Philippe Côté
Jean-Phillipe Marc Joseph Côté (born April 22, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He appeared in 27 games in the National Hockey League with the Montreal Canadiens and Tampa Bay Lightning during the 2005–06 and 2013–14 seasons. The rest of his career, which lasted from 2003 to 2018, was mainly spent in the minor leagues. He is the son of former NHL player Alain Côté. Suzanne Côté (born September 21, 1958) is a puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada. She was nominated by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to replace retiring justice Louis LeBel. Before her appointment to the Supreme Court, she was a partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP and previously Stikeman Elliott LLP in Montréal. Jean Côté
Jean Léon Côté (May 26, 1867 – September 23, 1924) was a prominent French-Canadian politician. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1909 until 1923 sitting with the provincial Liberal Party in both government and opposition. He vacated his provincial seat when he was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 1923. He served until his death in 1924 sitting with the federal Liberal caucus. Gérard Côté
Gérard Côté, (July 26, 1913 – 12 June 1993) was a Canadian marathon runner and a four-time winner of the Boston Marathon. Born in Saint-Barnabé-Sud, Quebec, Côté was training to be a boxer when he switched to running marathons. He competed in his first Boston Marathon in 1936 and won the race in 1940, 1943, 1944, and 1948. He set a new course record with his 1940 victory, and was awarded the Lou Marsh Trophy as Canada's top athlete of the year. Côté was the first francophone recipient of the award. Côté was also a three-time winner of the Yonkers Marathon and won three U.S. Amateur Athletic Union marathon championships. In 264 races over his career, Côté won 112 with 56 second-place finishes. He competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics but leg cramps held him to a 17th-place finish. Guy Côté (born December 30, 1965) is a Canadian politician and salesman. Côté was the Member of Parliament for the riding of Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier from 2004–2006. Michel Côté (born June 25, 1950) is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his performances in the films ''Cruising Bar'', '' Life After Love (La vie après l'amour)'' and ''C.R.A.Z.Y.'', the theatrical show ''Broue'' and the television series ''Omertà''. Career Côté taught introductory acting and improvisation at the Option Theatre in Ste. Therese until 1977. He subsequently cofounded a small theatre, Vogagements. Gisèle Côté-Harper, (born 1942) is a Canadian lawyer and professor. She is the 1995 recipient of the Pearson Medal of Peace for her work as a human rights activist. She is the first Francophone woman to receive such an honor. Education She graduated from Université Laval (B.A. and LL.L.) and Harvard Law School (LL.M.). He played in six seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL), and later played the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey in his native Quebec. Biography Côté was born in LaSalle, Quebec. As a youth, he played in the 1989 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Saint-Laurent, Quebec.
