César Quintero (baseball)
César Augusto Quintero (born November 16, 1982, in Chitré, Herrera Province, Panama) is a former minor league baseball catcher. He played for Panama in the 2006 World Baseball Classic and 2009 World Baseball Classics. He began his professional career in 2001, playing in the Venezuelan Summer League, hitting .253. In 2002, he hit .319 and slugged .524 while playing in the VSL. He played for the AZL Mariners and Inland Empire 66ers The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. Chitré () is a city and corregimiento, the capital of the Panamanian province of Herrera. with a population of 9,092 as of 2010, and a metropolitan area population of 80,000 inhabitants. Herrera () is a province in Panama. Named after General Tomás Herrera, the province was founded on January 18, 1915 from a division of the Los Santos province. The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino are a Minor League Baseball team of the California League and the Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels. The 66ers are based in San Bernardino, California, and play at San Manuel Stadium. Franchise history The 66ers began when the Salinas Spurs moved to San Bernardino and bought the name of the San Bernardino Spirit from the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes who had just left town.
