Cándido Bareiro
Cándido Pastor Bareiro Caballero (October 27, 1833 in Luque Paraguay – September 4, 1880 in Asuncion, Paraguay) was President of Paraguay from 27 November 1878 to 4 September 1880 and the leading politician of the post-war decade. Bareiro served as ambassador and commercial agent for the Paraguayan government of Francisco Solano López government in Europe. During the last months of Paraguayan War he returned to Paraguay in 1869 and entered politics, where he started a political movement that would result in creation of the Colorado Party. A strong ally of General Bernardino Caballero, he was elected President in 1878 with Caballero's help and died from a stroke after two years in office. Cándido Fabré (born in San Luis, Santiago de Cuba) is a Cuban musician, song writer, and singer famous for his skilled improvisation. He was born on September 20, 1959, in the municipality of San Luis (Santiago de Cuba Province, Santiago de Cuba), into a musical family; his father played the Tres (instrument), Tres, his brother was a singer and many bembés (Afro-Cubans, Afro-Cuban festivals where deities are sung for and worshipped) were played with him on the background. Songwriting Fabré made himself famous as the songwriter, arranger and main vocalist with "La Original de Manzanillo", which he joined in 1983. Fabre is known to create a ''son (music), son'' from any given situation or expression. As a Cuban songwriter, Candido has written over 1,000 songs which have been performed by artists such as Orquesta Aragón, Los Van Van, Manguare, Issac Delgado, Ritmo Oriental and Los Karachi. Cándido López
Cándido López (29 August 1840 – 31 December 1902) was an Argentine soldier and painter who worked in the Naïve style. He is best known for his historical scenes from the Paraguayan War in which he fought. Biography Early life He began his career as a daguerreotypist in 1858, having studied with Carlos Descalzi (1813–1879), a local portrait painter and photographer. This early process required precise planning for the composition of the image, so he began making sketches as an aid. Soon, this led him to take up painting as well. Between 1859 and 1863, he often toured the small cities and villages of Buenos Aires Province and the south of Santa Fe Province, taking a large number of photographs. From 1860, he maintained a permanent studio in the suburb of Mercedes. Two years later, he would be commissioned to do a portrait of newly elected President Bartolomé Mitre.
