Czechoslovakia Men's National Volleyball Team
The Czechoslovakia national men's volleyball team was the national volleyball team for Czechoslovakia that had represented the country in international competitions and friendly matches between 1948–1993 Fédération Internationale de Volleyball, FIVB considers Czech Republic (Czech Republic men's national volleyball team, national team) as the inheritor of the records of Czechoslovakia (1948–1993). The Czech team’s first participations in international competitions saw them win a gold medal at the inaugural Men's European Volleyball Championship, European Championship in 1948 which kick-started a golden age for the team. They won two more European in 1955 and 1958, two golds at the World Championships of 1956 and 1966, and a further eight medals in other elite tournaments. They took silver at the Tokyo 1964 Olympic Games and followed that with the bronze four years later in Mexico City. Volleyball
Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964. Beach volleyball was introduced to the programme at the Atlanta 1996. The adapted version of volleyball at the Summer Paralympic Games is sitting volleyball.
