The Czech Rugby Player of the Year (Ragbista roku) is awarded to the player voted the best in the Czech Republic. The awards have grown since 2001. Czech Republic

Jan Macháček
Jan Macháček (born 15 February 1972 in Prague) is a former Czech rugby player. He is one of arguably the two most famous Czech rugby players, along with Martin Jágr. He played for Newport RFC and Pontypridd RFC in Wales, Sale Sharks in England, Clermont Auvergne in France as well as the Barbarians. Martin Kafka (rugby Player)
Martin Kafka (born 25 July 1978 in Říčany) is a former Czech rugby player and the current coach of the Czech Republic. His great-uncle was the famous writer Franz Kafka and his grandfather was a German international footballer. Early years Kafka started playing rugby at the age of seven at his hometown club. In 1997 he went to study at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at the Charles University in Prague, with the intention of becoming a Physical Education teacher. Rugby career He went to Spain in 1999, playing for Valencia, who were then in the Spanish Second Division ( División de Honor B). In 2001 he joined La Moraleja Alcobendas, which boasted international players such as the Souto brothers, Carlos and Sergio. Martin Jágr
Martin Jágr (born 29 September 1979 in Prague) is a Czech rugby union footballer. He is nicknamed "Jaguar". His position on the field is on the wing. Jágr is usually considered one of the best rugby union players from his country. He was first noticed at Sparta Prague, in the Czech Republic, where he played from 1997/1998 to 1999/2000, winning two titles of National Champion, within the first two seasons. Jágr was then assigned for the Welsh team of Pontypool RFC, staying an entire season. The Czech wing then moved to Toulon, at that time in the French Rugby Pro D2, where he played through the 2008–09 season. He played for Toulon teams that won the Pro D2 crown in 2005 and 2008. After a 2008–2009 season that saw Toulon flirt with relegation before a late-season surge brought them to safety, he was one of many players released from the team.
