Czech Republic In The Eurovision Song Contest
The Czech Republic has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 10 times since making its debut in . After receiving ''nul points'' in the semi-final of the and due to a lack of interest from the Czech public, Czech broadcaster (ČT) decided not to participate in future contests. ČT announced their return to the contest in , with an internal selection being used to select their fourth Eurovision entry. In , Gabriela Gunčíková became the first Czech entrant to reach the final, finishing 25th with the song "I Stand". After the country failed to qualify in 2017, Mikolas Josef became the second Czech entrant to reach the final and the first to reach the top ten, placing sixth in with the song "Lie to Me”. Kabát
Kabát is a Czech hard rock band from Teplice formed in 1983. The members of the group are Josef Vojtek (lead vocals), Milan Špalek (bass guitar), Tomáš Krulich (guitar), Ota Váňa (guitar), and Radek Hurčík (drums). Kabát has enjoyed major popularity in their home country since 1989, and they are the holders of multiple Anděl Awards. Slovakia In The Eurovision Song Contest
Slovakia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest seven times, debuting in 1994. It had attempted to debut in 1993, but did not pass through the qualifying round. In the first three finals that Slovakia participated in, it placed no better than 18th, which it achieved in 1996.
