The Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic (), abbreviated MFČR, is a government Ministry (government department), ministry, responsible for matters relating to economic policy, the government budget, revenue service, banking, security and insurance, international economic work, central, regional and local government. Czech Republic
The Czech Republic, or simply Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Historically known as Bohemia, it is bordered by Austria to the south, Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, and Slovakia to the southeast. The Czech Republic has a hilly landscape that covers an area of with a mostly temperate continental and oceanic climate. Prague 1, formally the Prague 1 Municipal District (), is a second-tier municipality in Prague. It is co-extensive with the national administrative district (''správní obvod'') of the same name. Prague 1 includes most of the medieval heart of the city. All of Staré Město (the Old Town) and Josefov (the Jewish Quarter) are in the district, as are most of Malá Strana (the Little Quarter), Hradčany and Nové Město (the New Town). Tiny parts of Holešovice and Vinohrady (the State Opera and new building of the National Museum) round out the district. The district has remained intact since its creation in 1960. Most of Prague 1 is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Malá Strana (Czech for "Little Side (of the River)", ) or more formally Menší Město pražské () is a district of the city of Prague, Czech Republic, and one of its most historic neighbourhoods. In the Middle Ages, it was a dominant center of the ethnic German (and since 16th century also Italian) citizens of Prague. It also housed many noble palaces while the right-bank towns were comparatively more bourgeois and more Bohemian Czech. Name The name Malá Strana literally means "Little Side", though it is frequently referred to as "Lesser Town", "Lesser Quarter", or "Lesser Side". It is on the left (west) bank of the river Vltava, on the slopes just below Prague Castle. Zbyněk Stanjura
Zbyněk Stanjura (born 15 February 1964) is a Czech politician who has been serving as Minister of Finance in Petr Fiala's Cabinet since 17 December 2021. He was previously appointed to Petr Nečas's Cabinet on 12 December 2012, serving as Minister of Transport until July 2013. He has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies since 2010. Stanjura previously served as Mayor of Opava from 2002 to 2010. Political career Stanjura started his political career at municipal level, as mayor of Opava from 2002 to 2010 for the Civic Democratic Party (ODS). In 2010 he became a member of the Chamber of Deputies, and in December 2012 he was named Minister of Transport in Petr Nečas' Cabinet. From 2013, Stanjura served as Chief Whip of the Civic Democratic Party under the leadership of Petr Fiala. He held his seat in the 2017 elections and was elected chief whip once again.
