Cynthia Wu
Cynthia Wu (; born 18 May 1978) is a member of the Legislative Yuan, the legislature of Taiwan. Personal life, education, and early career Cynthia Wu was born in the United States on 18 May 1978, and attended Taipei American School, Wellesley College and The Courtauld Institute of Art. She is the eldest daughter of Eugene Wu and his wife Hsu Hsien-hsien. Her maternal grandfather is banker and politician Hsu Sheng-fa. Cynthia Wu's younger sister is Wu Hsin-ju, and her younger brother is Wu Yi-tung. Prior to pursuing politics, Wu was an executive at , a division of the Shin Kong Group, which was founded by her paternal grandfather . Legislative Yuan
The Legislative Yuan is the unicameral legislature of the Republic of China (Taiwan) located in Taipei. The Legislative Yuan is composed of 113 members, who are directly elected for 4-year terms by people of the Taiwan Area through a parallel voting system. Originally located in Nanking, the Legislative Yuan, along with the National Assembly (electoral college) and the Control Yuan (upper house), formed the tricameral parliament under the original 1947 Constitution. The Legislative Yuan previously had 759 members representing each constituencies of all provinces, municipalities, Tibet, Outer Mongolia and various professions.
