Cycling At The 2012 Summer Paralympics
Cycling at the 2012 Summer Paralympics consisted of 50 events in two main disciplines, track cycling and road cycling. Track cycling was held in London Velopark from 30 August to 2 September, and road cycling took place at Brands Hatch from September 5 to September 8. Classification Cyclists are given a classification depending on the type and extent of their disability. The classification system allows cyclists to compete against others with a similar level of function. The class number indicates the severity of impairment with "1" being most impaired. Cycling classes are: *B: Blind and visually impaired cyclists use a Tandem bicycle with a sighted pilot on the front - both athletes are awarded medals *H 1–4: Cyclists with an impairment that affects their legs use a handcycle *T 1–2: Cyclists with an impairment that affects their balance use a tricycle *C 1-5: Cyclists with an impairment that affects their legs, arms and/or trunk but are capable of using a standard bicycl ...

Yaakov "Koby" Lion ( he, יעקב "קובי" ליאון) is an Israeli paracyclist. Career After becoming permanently injured in Lebanon while serving in the Israel Defence Forces, Lion focused on his hand cycling abilities. He competed for Team Israel at the 2010 European Handcycling Federation road race, where he won a bronze medal. The following year, Lion placed second at the UCI Paracycling Road World Championships. James Brown (cyclist)
James Brown is a former Northern Irish paralympic-cyclist, who competed for Great Britain, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. He is visually impaired and participated in five Paralympic Games in various sports. Brown earned two gold medals at the 1984 Summer Paralympics in athletics and a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the men's road time trial with sighted pilot Damien Shaw. Paralympic career Brown is visually impaired from birth and began cycling at the age of five and running at the age of 13 while attending the Royal National College for the Blind.
