London Velopark
Lee Valley VeloPark is a cycling centre on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London, England. It is owned and managed by Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, and it was opened to the public in March 2014. The facility was one of the permanent venues for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Lee Valley VeloPark is at the northern end of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It has a velodrome and BMX racing track, which have been used for the Games, as well as a one-mile (1.6 km) road course and 5 miles (8 km) of mountain bike trails. The park replaces the Eastway Cycle Circuit demolished to make way for it. The facilities built for the Olympics were constructed between 2009 and 2011. Susan "Sue" Powell, (born 30 May 1967) is an Australian cyclist. At the 2012 Summer Paralympics, 2012 London Paralympics, she won a gold medal in the Women's Individual Pursuit C4, setting a new world record in the process, and a silver medal in the Cycling at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, Women's Individual Pursuit C4. Colin Lynch (cyclist)
Colin Lynch (born 16 December 1970) is a retired Paralympic cyclist competing in C2 classification events for Ireland. Career Lynch won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in the time trial C2 event. Lynch started riding for the Irish Paracycling National Team in 2010. In 2011 he won his first UCI Paracycling World Cup Time Trial medal in Australia, followed by a silver medal in a World Cup time trial in Spain. In the World Championships in Roskilde, Denmark that year, Lynch won his first World Championship title in the time trial. It was quickly followed up by another World Championship title in 2012 in the 3 km Pursuit in Los Angeles. The London 2012 Paralympic Games were a disappointment for Lynch as he missed winning a bronze medal in the 3 km Pursuit by 1/10th of a second. Alfonso Cabello Llamas (born 19 September 1993) is a Spanish Paralympic cyclist. Representing Spain at the 2012 Summer Paralympics, Cabello won a gold medal in the men's 1 km time trial C4–5 at the 2012 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, taking the current world record in the latter. Personal Cabello was born on 19 September 1993 in La Rambla without his left hand. As a child, his mother made sure that missing his hand would not get in the way of him doing things. She insisted he learn to tie his shoe laces without assistance and using his only hand. Other sports he played as a child included basketball and swimming.
