Cycling At The 1976 Summer Olympics
The cycling competition at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal consisted of two road cycling events and four track cycling events, all for men only. The 2000m tandem event, contested at the previous 13 Games since 1908, was dropped from the Olympic cycling program. Mount Royal
Mount Royal (french: link=no, Mont Royal, ) is a large intrusive rock hill or small mountain in the city of Montreal, immediately west of Downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The best-known hypothesis for the origin of the name Montreal is the hill is the namesake for the city. The hill is part of the Monteregian Hills situated between the Laurentians and the Appalachian Mountains. It gave its Latin name, ''Mons Regius'', to the Monteregian chain. Tadeusz Mytnik
Tadeusz Mytnik (born 13 August 1949) is a retired Polish cyclist. He had his best achievements in the 100 km team time trial. In this event he won a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics as well as two gold and one bronze medals at the world championships in 1973, 1975 and 1977. Vladimir Yuryevich Osokin (russian: Владимир Юрьевич Осокин; born 8 January 1954) is a retired Soviet cyclist. He won a silver and a gold medal in the 4000 m team pursuit at the 1976 and 1980 Summer Olympics, respectively; individually, he finished in fourth and fifth place. Thomas Huschke
Thomas Huschke (born 29 December 1947) is a retired East German cyclist. He competed at the 1972 and 1976 Summer Olympics in the 4000m individual and team pursuit events. He won a silver team medal in 1972 and an individual bronze medal in 1976, where his team also finished in fourth place overall. Between 1970 and 1975 he won one gold, three silver and two bronze medals in the same two events at world championships. As a road racer, he finished third in the Tour of Belgium in 1972, and won one stage of the Peace Race in 1973. Jørgen Emil Hansen (born 7 December 1942) is a Danish cyclist who competed in the Summer Olympics three times. He took part in the men's 100 km team time trial in the 1968, 1972, and 1976 Olympic Games, and in the men's individual road race in 1968 and 1976.
