Cvet Z Juga
Slovenia participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "Cvet z juga" written by Andrej Babić. The song was performed by Alenka Gotar. Slovenian broadcaster Radiotelevizija Slovenija (RTV Slovenija) organised the national final ''EMA 2007'' in order to select the Slovenian entry for the 2007 contest in Helsinki, Finland. The national final consisted of two semi-finals and a final where the winner was selected over two rounds of public voting. The top two entries in the first round competed in the second round where "Cvet z juga" performed by Alenka Gotar was eventually selected as the winner. Slovenia competed in the semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 10 May 2007. Alenka Gotar is a Slovene soprano singer, born in Rodica, Domžale, Rodica in 1977. With the song "Cvet z juga" ("Flower of the South"), she represented Slovenia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 in Helsinki, Finland. Achieving seventh place in the semi-final, she became the first Slovene to qualify to the grand final, where she ended fifteenth with 66 points. Katrina Elizabeth Leskanich ( ; born April 10, 1960) is an American musician and the former lead singer of the pop rock band Katrina and the Waves. Their song " Walking on Sunshine" was an international hit in 1985. In 1997, the band won the Eurovision Song Contest for the United Kingdom with the song "Love Shine a Light". Peter Poles (born February 6, 1978 in Slovenj Gradec) is a Slovenian television personality, responsible for presenting the Slovenian televote results in various editions of Eurovision Song Contest. Zablujena generacija (''Delusive'' or ''Stray generation'') is a Slovene "saloon" punk - alternative rock musical group from Idrija. The group started out in 1994. The original lineup, who took their lead from the legendary American punkers The Ramones, was Primož Alič (vocal, guitar), Ramon (guitar), Aljoša (bass) and Igor Seljak (drums). In those days they played in different garages and cellars in Idrija, and it was there that their first songs originated. Bass guitarist Aljoša was later on substituted with Hanson in 1998. Ana Soklič (born 10 April 1984) is a Slovenian singer. She represented Slovenia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 with the song "Amen", placing 13th in the first semi-final with 44 points.
