Mary Floyd Cushman
Mary Floyd Cushman (July 24, 1870 – 1965) was an American medical doctor and Christian missionary. She served as the Maine State Medical Board’s first female member and later as a medical missionary in Angola for 20 years. Early life, education, and family Cushman was born to John Paine Cushman and Caroline M. Cushman in Royalston, Massachusetts. Her father was the minister of the Trinitarian Parish in Castine, Maine, beginning in 1885 when Cushman was 15. Cushman went to college at Eastern State Maine Normal School in Castine, Maine, now Maine Maritime Academy. She graduated with honors in 1888 and continued her education, studying medicine at the Boston University School of Medicine. In 1892, she earned her Medical Degree. Cushman Kellogg Davis
Cushman Kellogg Davis (June 16, 1838November 27, 1900) was an American Republican politician who served as the seventh Governor of Minnesota and as a U.S. Senator from Minnesota. Early life and American Civil War Davis was born in Henderson, New York to Horatio N. Davis and Clarissa Cushman. His family moved to Wisconsin Territory before he was a year old (his father went on to serve as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate several different times). Cushman went to school at Carroll College and then the University of Michigan, graduating in 1857. Admitted to the bar in 1860, he soon after found himself serving in the American Civil War in the 28th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment, serving first as a lieutenant in charge of Company B of this volunteer regiment. Robert Cushman (November 7, 1946 – July 13, 2009) was the photography curator for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) for 37 years. He is credited with developing and expanding the photographic archives of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science's Margaret Herrick Library in Beverly Hills, California. The collection is estimated to consist of more than 10 million images and photographs as of 2009. Additional images were acquired by Cushman through his solicitation of donations from major Hollywood film studios, individuals and their families during his 37-year tenure with the Academy. Robert Cushman
Robert Cushman (1577–1625) was an important leader and organiser of the ''Mayflower'' voyage in 1620, serving as Chief Agent in London for the Leiden Separatist contingent from 1617 to 1620 and later for Plymouth Colony until his death in 1625 in England. His historically famous booklet titled 'Cry of a Stone' was written about 1619 and finally published in 1642, many years after his death in 1625. The work is an important pre-sailing Pilgrim account of the Leiden group's religious lives. Cushman was most likely one of the first ''Mayflower'' passengers when the ship sailed from London to Southampton to meet the ''Speedwell'' coming from Leiden. Pauline Cushman (born Harriet Wood; June 10, 1833 – December 2, 1893) was an American actress and a spy for the Union Army during the American Civil War. She is considered one of the most successful Civil War spies. Charlie Cushman
Charles H. Cushman (May 25, 1850 – June 29, 1909) was an American professional baseball umpire and manager in the late 19th century. In parts of three seasons, he umpired a total of 110 National League games. Late in the 1891 season, he managed a replacement team, the Milwaukee Brewers, in the major-league American Association. Baseball career Managing Cushman managed the minor-league Milwaukee Brewers of the Northwestern League during part of the 1884 season. He later managed another minor-league Milwaukee Brewers team in the Western Association during 1890 and 1891.
