Curtis Conway
Curtis Lamont Conway Sr (born January 13, 1971) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the first round of the 1993 NFL Draft out of the University of Southern California (USC). Conway also played for the San Diego Chargers, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers. High school years Conway attended Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, California and was a football and a track star. He won All-America honors as a senior quarterback. His high school quarterback coach was Dave Keller. His high school track coach was legendary coach Kye Courtney. Even though he was an All-American quarterback, he was more known for his exploits on the track. During that era, Hawthorne was a regular contender at the CIF California State Meet. Keith O'Neal Jennings (born May 19, 1966) is a former American football tight end in the National Football League for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. He also was a member of the Las Vegas Outlaws in the XFL. He played college football at Clemson University. Early years Jennings attended Summerville High School, where he was a high school All-American and an All-State wide receiver, while helping his team win 3 Division I-AAAA state championships. He posted 85 receptions for 1,760 yards (20.7 avg.) and 17 touchdowns in his final two seasons. He also was an All-state first baseman, contributing to the school winning 2 state titles. Erik Kramer
William Erik Kramer (born November 6, 1964) is an American former football quarterback. He attended John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California. After attending Pierce College and playing as their quarterback, Kramer transferred to North Carolina State University. He was not drafted by an NFL team, but did see action in 1987, when he played for the Atlanta Falcons as a replacement player during the NFL players strike. He would then spend some time in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders. Kramer would return to the NFL in 1991, when he became a surprise starter for the Detroit Lions after injuries sidelined Rodney Peete. Kramer played in 13 games, led the Lions to a 12–4 record, their only playoff victory since 1962, and a trip to the NFC Championship Game. CIF California State Meet
The CIF California State Meet is the annual championship track and field meet for the California Interscholastic Federation. The meet was started in 1915 for boys and 1974 for girls. Every athlete in every high school in California has a direct qualification path that can reach the state meet (except for five schools that compete in Nevada). In recent years a minimum of 27 athletes in each event reach this final meet of the official track and field season. Beyond those 27 who can qualify by placing in their individual section finals, "at-large" standards have been established to allow additional competitors to make the field. The meet and the organization has undergone some changes in format over the years. Dave Keller (born September 28, 1959) is a former minor league baseball player, coach and manager and major league coach for the Cleveland Indians. He is currently the manager for the Chicago Cubs Single A affiliate Daytona Cubs. Keller attended the University of Northern Colorado from 1979 to 1982 where he excelled at both baseball and basketball. He still holds career records at the school for Run batted in, RBI (173), home runs (47) and slugging percentage (.756). Keller is also in the program's top ten lists for career Run (baseball), runs (146), total bases (332) and walks (86). He also holds the single season Bears record for home runs (20).
