Curt Hanson
Curtis Dean "Curt" Hanson (August 13, 1943 – June 16, 2017) was an American politician. He was born and raised on a Kossuth County, Iowa farm near Swea City. He was also a resident of Fairfield for fifty-two years. Hanson received his B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa and his M.A. from the University of Iowa. He was a driver education teacher at Fairfield High School for forty-three years, where he received the Fairfield Jaycee Outstanding Young Education Award and was named Fairfield Teacher of the Year Award. Hanson also was president of the Iowa Association of Safety Education and a member of the National Education Society. Hanson was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives. John Whitaker (Iowa Politician)
John R. Whitaker (born 1956) is the head of the United States Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency in Iowa, a former Iowa State Representative from the 90th District, and a former assistant House majority leader. He served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2003 until his July 17, 2009 resignation from the House to accept an appointment to head the USDA's Farm Service Agency in Iowa. A special election to fill his seat took place on September 1, 2009. Iowa General Assembly
The Iowa General Assembly is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. Composition The Iowa General Assembly consists of 50 senators and 100 representatives. Each senator represents about 60,927 people and each representative about 30,464 people .
