Andrew Cunningham, 1st Viscount Cunningham Of Hyndhope
Admiral of the Fleet Andrew Browne Cunningham, 1st Viscount Cunningham of Hyndhope, (7 January 1883 – 12 June 1963) was a senior officer of the Royal Navy during the Second World War. He was widely known by his initials, "ABC". Cunningham was born in Rathmines in the south side of Dublin on 7 January 1883. After starting his schooling in Dublin and Edinburgh, he enrolled at Stubbington House School, at the age of ten. He entered the Royal Navy in 1897 as a naval cadet in the officers' training ship ''Britannia'', passing out in 1898. He commanded a destroyer during the First World War and through most of the interwar period. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order and two Bars, for his performance during this time, specifically for his actions in the Dardanelles and in the Baltics. Claire Cunningham (born 1977) is a Scottish choreographer and dancer who performs on crutches. She creates dances and sculpture that involve crutches for people of all abilities. She identifies herself as a disabled person. Life Cunningham was born with osteoporosis, a progressive bone disease and as result she labels herself as disabled. She lived in Ayrshire, but now lives in Glasgow. She has created work with the National Theatre of Scotland. Claire Cunningham is one of the UK's most esteemed disabled artists. Cunningham's work challenges normativity and explores the potential for experimental dance techniques. Her work, as a choreographer, is conscious of the non-normative body and the societal implications of living a disabled experience. Chris Cunningham (born 15 October 1970) is a British video artist and music video director, best known for his music videos for electronic musicians such as Autechre, Squarepusher, and most notably Aphex Twin on videos for "Windowlicker" and " Come to Daddy", and Björk's "All is Full of Love". Alfred Austell Cunningham (March 8, 1882 – May 27, 1939) was an American aviator and a United States Marine Corps officer who became the first Marine Corps aviator and the first director of Marine Corps Aviation. His military career included service in the Spanish–American War, World War I, and U.S. operations in the Caribbean during the 1920s. Early life and career Cunningham was born in Atlanta, Georgia. His interest in aviation began in 1903 when he watched a balloon ascend one afternoon. The next time the balloon went up he was in it and from then on he was considered himself a "confirmed aeronautical enthusiast". Clare Cunningham ( ''née'' ''Bishop'' on born 15 June 1977) is a retired Paralympic swimmer and triathlete who represented Great Britain. She was born without her left forearm. Cunningham first swam in international competition at the age of 13, at the 1990 World Championships and Games for the Disabled in Assen, The Netherlands. At the 1992 Summer Paralympics, Cunningham won the Women's S9 50m freestyle event in what was then World Record time.
