The KTFF Super Cup (), formerly known as Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası ("Presidential Cup"), was the super cup tournament of the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Created in 1981, it was contested between the winners of KTFF Süper Lig and the Cypriot Cup before the beginning of a season. The Cyprus Turkish Football Association (, KTFF) is the governing body of football in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Established on 29 October 1955, during British colonial rule in Cyprus, it was affiliated with the N.F.-Board from 2003 until the board's dissolution in 2013. The KTFF Süper Lig (English: CTFA Super League), officially the AKSA Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, formerly known as the Birinci Lig ( literally ''First League''), is the top football league in Northern Cyprus. The league was founded in 1955 and is currently contested by 16 teams. At the end of the season, the bottom two clubs are relegated to the KTFF 1. The Cypriot Cup () is the top knockout tournament of the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Gönyeli (; ) is a town in Cyprus, near the capital city Nicosia. It is '' de facto'' under the control of Northern Cyprus. Over the years the town has merged with North Nicosia, making it connurbated with the city. Its population is 11,671. History Before the Ottoman conquest of Cyprus in 1571, the area consisted of empty fields. Upon the conquest, two families from Anatolia that of Kurt Ali from Anamur and Mehmet Efendi from Aksaray, settled here and founded Gönyeli. Over time, as the families grew in population, the village grew as a Turkish-speaking farming community.
