''Culture Vultures'' is a second and final album by American band Orson. The album was released on October 22, 2007 but it leaked online on October 20, 2007. The album did not follow the success of their debut, 'Bright Idea', which charted at #1 on the UK Album Chart, and only reached a position of #25 in its debut week. "Ain't No Party", the lead single, only peaked at #21, failing to repeat the success of the lead single off their previous album, "No Tomorrow", which charted at #1. The album sold 8020 copies in its opening week. Orson (band)
Orson were an American rock band from California, formed in 2000. The band, despite being American, were much more successful in the United Kingdom. Career Orson started its life under the name of Halogen in 2000 and consisted of vocalist Jason Pebworth, guitarists George Astasio and Chad Rachild, bassist Johnny Lonely (aka John Bentjen) and drummer Johnny Fedevich. Within the first year of the band's existence, Fedevich was replaced by Chris Cano; creating the line-up of the band that would exist for most of the rest of its history. Their self-financed debut studio album, ''Bright Idea'', released by Mercury Records in 2006, was produced in Los Angeles by Noah Shain and achieved chart success in the United Kingdom with the first single, " No Tomorrow". Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Mercury Records is an American record label owned by Universal Music Group. It had significant success as an independent operation in the 1940s and 1950s. ''Bright Idea'' is the debut studio album of American power pop band Orson. Originally self-released in 2005, it was released commercially on May 29, 2006 in the UK and internationally on June 13, 2006. The album was recorded for just $5,000 in Hollywood, funded by the band themselves, and produced by Noah Shain. It contains the hit singles " No Tomorrow", "Bright Idea", "Happiness" and "Already Over". ''Bright Idea'' charted at number one on the official UK Albums Chart on June 4, 2006. The video for the single "Bright Idea" was directed by Tony Petrossian and was released as the follow-up to the UK number-one single "No Tomorrow". The album was prized with a platinum record in the United Kingdom. About 700,000 copies were sold worldwide. Kevin Roentgen
Kevin Roentgen (pronounced "rent-gehn") is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and formerly guitarist for the rock band Orson, who is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Roentgen is previously known for fronting L.A. rock bands American Pearl (Wind-Up Records), SOUL (Elektra Records) and Goldsboro. Following the break-up of American Pearl, Roentgen spent most of 2003 in the studio writing and demo-ing new songs. The result was Praying Hands, ''The Acoustic EP'', recorded and co-produced by Noah Shain at White Buffalo Studio in Hollywood. In 2005, Roentgen joined L.A. band Orson as a guitarist. Julian Gallagher (born 17 July 1968 in Bromley, London) is a British songwriter and record producer, known for working with Kylie Minogue on her 2001 album, ''Fever''.
