Ihor Tsymbrovsky (Ukrainian: Ігор Цимбровський; Polish: Ihor Cymbrows'kyj; born 1962) is a Ukrainian architect, poet and musician from Lviv. In 1995, Tsymbrovsky created the album ''Come, Angel'' (Ukrainian: Прийди, янголе; ''Pryydy, yanhole''), which released on the Polish label Koka Records in 1996. ''Come, Angel'' and Tsymbrovsky's work received renewed attention in the 2010s in Ukraine and abroad, leading to an abridged reissue on Offen Records in 2016 and a full reissue on Kontakt Audio and Infinite Fog in 2022. Svitlana Nianio
Svitlana Nianio ( uk, Світлана Няньо, ) is a Ukrainian avant-garde singer-songwriter. She was previously a member of the Kyiv experimental group Cukor Bila Smerť (lit. Sugar White Death). In addition, she produced albums with experimental musician Oleksandr Yurchenko. During the early 1990s she was known as Svitlana Ohrimenko (Світлана Охріменко). Biography Little is known about Svitlana Nianio's background. In an interview with RWCDAX, she states that her parents were Catholic and that she grew up with an interest in religious and traditional music. She went on to attend a music conservatory in Kyiv, where she formed Tsukor bila smertʹ in 1988 with Eugene Taran, Oleksandr Kochanovsky, and Tamila Mazur. The group disbanded in 1993. Ukrainian Underground
Ukrainian underground was a movement in Ukraine's Soviet period from the late 1950s through the early 1990s. This art form was banned by several totalitarian countries of Eastern Europe and the USSR. It was also known under other names, such as unofficial art, nonconformism, and dissident art. It ended due to the Perestroika reform movement, which led to Ukrainian independence in 1991. After the Soviet Union collapsed, similar counter-cultural processes developed under the names of "alternative" or "marginal" art. The avant-garde ideas of underground art were picked up and developed by the next generation of the Ukrainian New Wave.
