Cucullanus Bulbosus
''Cucullanus bulbosus'' is a species of parasitic nematodes.Lane, M. O. (1916). The genus ''Dacnitis'' Dujardin, 1845. Ind. J. med. Res. 93-104.de Barreto, BAL. 1922. Revisão da familia Cucullanidae Barreto, 1916. Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz, 14, 68–87PDF It is an endoparasite of carangid fishes. In 1916, Lane described a new cucullanid species, ''Bulbodacnitis bulbosa'', from the bluefin trevally ''Caranx melampygus'' off Sri Lanka and established the new genus ''Bulbodacnitis'' to accommodate it, because he considered the presence of a dorsal hemispherical cephalic elevation in this species to be of generic importance. However, Barreto considered ''Bulbodacnitis'' Lane, 1916 a junior synonym of ''Cucullanus'' O.F. Müller, 1777, to which he transferred Lane’s species. ''Cucullanus bulbosus'' had not been recorded since its description by Lane in 1916, but it was found again only in 2016, one century after, from specimens collected in ''Carangoides fulvoguttatu ...

Ascaridida
The order Ascaridida includes several families of parasitic roundworms with three "lips" on the anterior end. They were formerly placed in the subclass Rhabditia by some, but morphological and DNA sequence data rather unequivocally assign them to the Spiruria. The Oxyurida and Rhigonematida are occasionally placed in the Ascaridida as superfamily Oxyuroidea, but while they seem indeed to be Spiruria, they are not as close to ''Ascaris'' as such a treatment would place them.Tree of Life Web Project (ToL) (2002)Nematoda Version of 2002-JAN-01. Retrieved 2008-NOV-02. These "worms" contain a number of important parasites of humans and domestic animals. Important families include: * The Anisakidae are also called the "marine mammal ascarids". The larvae of these worms cause anisakiasis when ingested by humans in raw or insufficiently cooked fish, but do not reproduce in humans. * The Ascarididae include the giant intestinal roundworms (''Ascaris'' spp.). * The Cosmocercidae include ...

American Brook Lamprey
''Lethenteron appendix'', the American brook lamprey, is a common non-parasitic lamprey in North America. In adults their disc-like mouths contain poorly developed teeth, useless for attaching to a host. Description The eggs of the American brook lamprey (ABL) are white, sticky, and small, measuring about . When they hatch, the embryos are small as well, measuring less than ; they are white and wormlike. Within a month they take on the larval appearance. Larvae of all lampreys are called ammocoetes and when small ABL ammocoetes have a dark band running longitudinally along the body, a dark head region, and the remainder of the body is clear. As they increase in size the body becomes increasing darker, reaching a dark brown by the time the ammocoetes reach their maximum size of about . The dark band on the body begins to lighten during this is as well and is not distinct in more mature ammocoetes. However, mature ammocoetes will have a dark spot on the caudal fin. There are likely ...

Genypterus Blacodes
The pink cusk-eel, ''Genypterus blacodes'', is a demersal species of cusk-eel found in the oceans around southern Australia, Chile, Brazil, and around New Zealand except the east coast of Northland, in depths of . Their length is up to , and they live for up to 30 years. Their maximum weight is . This species has a pinkish yellow body marbled with irregular reddish brown blotches dorsally, with no dorsal spines or anal spines. Other names in English include ling, Australian rockling, New Zealand ling, kingklip, pink ling, and northern ling. The South African kingklip is a similar, related species (''Genypterus capensis''). This species feeds on crustaceans such as ''Munida'' and scampi but also takes fish. It has been caught on the bottom during the spawning season of the blue grenadier ''(Macruronus novaezelandiae)'' while feeding on the species. Juveniles of this species are found in shallower shelf waters. This species is oviparous, and its eggs float on the surface in a ...

List Of Diseases And Parasites In Cod
Cod and related species in the family Gadidae are susceptible to a variety of diseases and parasites. ''Laenaeocera branchialis'' ''Lernaeocera branchialis'', the "cod worm", is a copepod that infects gadoids. The first host used by cod worm is a flatfish or lumpsucker, which it captures with grasping hooks at the front of its body. It penetrates the lumpsucker with a thin filament, which it uses to suck the host's blood. The nourished cod worm then mates with another one on the lumpsucker.Matthews B (1998''An Introduction to Parasitology''Page 73–74. Cambridge University Press. . The female worm, with her now-fertilized eggs, then finds a cod, or a cod-like fish, such as a haddock or whiting. There, the worm clings to the gills while it metamorphoses into a plump, sinusoidal, worm-like body, with a coiled mass of egg strings at the rear. The front part of the worm's body penetrates the body of the cod until it enters the rear bulb of the host's heart. There, firmly rooted in ...
