Cuckoo's Nest Studios
Wang Film Productions Co., Ltd. (also known as Hong Guang Animation (宏廣) and Cuckoos' Nest Studio) is one of the oldest and most prolific Taiwanese-American animation studios since 1978. The company, based in Xindian, Taipei and Los Angeles, California, has done traditional hand-drawn 2D animation/ink and paint for various TV shows and films for studios across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. History Wang Film/Cuckoo's Nest, the studio's original name, was founded by James C.Y. Wang (王中元)/Wang Zhongyuan, Hsu Chih-wei and Lu Kuang-chi started the studio in 1978 as a Taiwanese subcontractor for various Japanese animation studios and also an overseas facility for the American animation studio Hanna–Barbera. Hanna-Barbera sent Jerry Smith to help set up the company and eventually owned half the company. Xinyi District or Sinyi District is the seat of the Taipei City Government and Taipei City Council. Film Roman, LLC is an American independent animation studio currently based in Woodland Hills, California and formerly in Burbank. It was previously owned by Starz Inc., which is now a division of Lionsgate, and later by Waterman Entertainment, the production company of producer Steve Waterman. Care Bears
Care Bears are multi-colored bears, originally painted in 1981 by artist Elena Kucharik to be used on greeting cards from American Greetings. In 1983, the characters were turned into plush teddy bears. The characters headlined their own television series called ''Care Bears'' from 1985 to 1988. They also made three feature films: ''The Care Bears Movie'' (1985), '' Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation'' (1986), and ''The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland'' (1987). Each Care Bear is a different colour or shade and has a unique "picture on the stomach" that represents its personality. Marc Levoy
Marc Levoy is a computer graphics researcher and Professor Emeritus of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, a vice president and Fellow at Adobe Inc., and (until 2020) a Distinguished Engineer at Google. He is noted for pioneering work in volume rendering, light fields, and computational photography. Education and early career Levoy first studied computer graphics as an architecture student under Donald P. Greenberg at Cornell University. Traditional animation (or classical animation, cel animation, or hand-drawn animation) is an animation technique in which each frame is drawn by hand. The technique was the dominant form of animation in cinema until computer animation.
