Cubic 22
Cubic 22 were a Belgian electronic music project, made up of producers, Peter Ramson (AKA Jos Borremans), a veteran of the new beat era, and Danny Van Wauwe, who also went on to issue material under various pseudonyms. The duo were a part of the burgeoning house music scene that was starting to become popular in the UK, and released many songs prior to hitting it big with their sole single success. That track, "Night in Motion", crossed over from the clubs to the pop chart in June 1991, eventually peaking at #15 after only three weeks. The group appeared on Top of the Pops on June 27, 1991. This would be the last of the group's singles to chart on the UK Singles Chart, however they charted many more songs on the UK Dance Chart. "Night in Motion" is featured in Dance Dance Revolution 4th Mix and Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2 as a playable song. ''Top of the Pops'' (''TOTP'') is a British Record chart, music chart television programme, made by the BBC and originally broadcast weekly between 1January 1964 and 30 July 2006. The programme was the world's longest-running weekly music show. For most of its history, it was broadcast on Thursday evenings on BBC One. Each show consisted of performances of some of the week's best-selling popular music records, usually excluding any tracks moving down the chart, including a rundown of that week's singles chart. "U Sure Do" is a song by British electronic dance music group Strike. Released in December 1994, it was their second single and reached number 31 in the UK charts. In 1997, it was featured on the group's only album, '' I Saw the Future''. The song was a big UK club hit and after receiving regular play in clubs throughout 1994/1995 it was re-released and re-entered the chart in April 1995, reaching number four. It also peaked at number-one on the UK Dance Singles Chart. The track samples Donna Allen's 1986 song "Serious" for the vocal, and Cubic 22's 1991 song "Night in Motion" for the main synth. In 1999, it was remixed and released as "U Sure Do '99". This version peaked at number 53 in the UK. In 2006, it was remixed a third time and released to a handful of DJs solely for club use. Strike was a British electronic dance music band formed in 1994 consisting of Matt Cantor (later of Freestylers), Andy Gardner (later of Plump DJs) and the vocalist Victoria Newton. Career Strike formed towards the end of 1994. A chance vocal session for Victoria Newton at the studios of Fresh Records in Ladbroke Grove, landed her the role as the lead singer. Strike's first single, "Formula One", entered the lower reaches of the UK top 100 chart. They did not break through until " U Sure Do" was released in December 1994, originally charting at number 31 in the UK Singles Chart, only to re-enter the chart and climb to number 4 in April 1995, due to the track becoming a major club hit.
