Csaba Horváth (chemical Engineer)
Csaba Horváth (25 January 1930 – 13 April 2004) was a Hungarian-American chemical engineer, particularly noted for building the first high-performance liquid chromatograph. Early life and education Csaba Horváth was born in Szolnok, Hungary and graduated in chemical engineering from the Budapest Institute of Technology. In 1956 he went to West Germany to work for Hoechst AG. He then studied physical chemistry at the J.W. Goethe University in Frankfurt, receiving his Ph.D. in 1963. Career In 1964 he joined Yale School of Medicine. From 1967 he also had an appointment in the Faculty of Engineering. In 1972 he joined the Department of Chemical Engineering at Yale, becoming full Professor in 1979 and Chair of the Department from 1987 to 1993. He was named as Roberto Goizueta Professor of Chemical Engineering in 1998. He died on 13 April 2004, at Yale-New Haven Hospital of a stroke. Csaba Mérő (born July 7, 1979 in Budapest, Hungary) is an amateur Go player. Biography Mérő began playing Go when he was 14. He is the son of Hungarian mathematician László Mérő. By 1996 he had already won the European Youth Go Championship and Hungarian Championship. After he finished secondary school he moved to Japan in 1999. He was an insei there for two and a half years. His teacher was Chizu Kobayashi. He was given the chance to study with some of Japan's top players including Satoru Kobayashi and Cho U. After he failed the professional test, he moved back to Europe in 2001. After returning to Europe, a French summer Go camp invited Csaba to become an instructor for the summer. Csaba Ferenc Asztalos (born February 17, 1974 in Baia Mare) is a politician of Hungarian ethnicity in Romania and an ex-member of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania. He is currently the president of the National Council for Combating Discrimination, Romania's anti-discrimination and equality body. He speaks Romanian, Hungarian and English. Csaba Balogh (born 10 March 1987 in Budapest) is in a Hungarian chess Grandmaster (chess), grandmaster. Chess career Balogh was taught how to play chess by his father, when he was six years old. At the age of eight, he began training with IM Böröcz István, who took Balogh to his first tournament the following year. He won the European Youth Chess Championship, European Under-16 Championship in 2003. In the same year, Balogh was a member of the Hungarian national team that won both the U-16 Chess Olympiad and the European U-18 Team Chess Championship. Csaba Hende (born 5 February 1960) is a Hungarian politician who served as Minister of Defence of Hungary from 29 May 2010 to 9 September 2015 when he resigned. Hende was born in Szombathely in 1960. In 1983 he graduated in law at the Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, then practiced as a lawyer in his hometown of Szombathely. Beginning in 1988, he was a member of Hungarian Democratic Forum (MDF). In 1991 he joined the government as parliamentary secretary of state of the Defence Ministry. During the rule of socialist-liberal cabinet (1994–1998) he returned to practice law in Szombathely. In the first government of Viktor Orbán he served as Secretary of State in the Ministry of Justice.
