Crydamoure
Crydamoure (a variation of the French phrase ''cri d'amour'' or "cry of love" in English) was a French house record label owned by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, one former half of the duo Daft Punk, and Eric Chedeville. Background The label was founded in 1997, with their first single "Holiday on Ice / Santa Claus" being the first release by de Homem-Christo and his label co-owner Eric Chedeville (under the guise of Le Knight Club). Crydamoure was one of the first French house labels to incorporate band and guitar influences into its production. The label was left defunct in 2003, and shut down. In 2015, Crydamoure was revived after Le Knight Club released a single named "The Fight", made for the Algerian film ''Gates of the Sun.'' Le Knight Club's involvement in the revival of the label is uncertain. Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo
Guillaume Emmanuel "Guy-Manuel" de Homem-Christo (; born 8 February 1974) is a French musician, record producer, singer, songwriter, DJ and composer. He is known as one half of the former French house music duo Daft Punk, along with Thomas Bangalter. He has also produced several works from his now defunct record label Crydamoure with label co-owner Éric Chedeville. Early life Homem-Christo was born on 8 February 1974 in Neuilly-sur-Seine. He is the grandson of Portuguese poet Homem Christo Filho, and the great-great-grandson of Portuguese military figure Francisco Manuel Homem Cristo, who was forced into exile in France in 1910. Homem-Christo was given a toy guitar and keyboard at around seven years of age. Roulé () was a French record label founded in 1995 by former Daft Punk member Thomas Bangalter. Roulé had a side label entitled ''Scratché'' () which released only one record, produced by the Buffalo Bunch (Paul de Homem-Christo and Romain Séo). Roulé was liquidated in 2018. History 1995 – 1998: Beginnings In 1995, Bangalter released ''Trax On Da Rocks'', the first EP and release on the label. The EP includes "What To Do," which would be included in the 2018 film Climax. In 1997, Alan Braxe released "Vertigo" after meeting Bangalter in a night club, which included a remix by Bangalter called the "Virgo Edit." French house, also known as French touch, filter house and tekfunk, is a style of house music originally produced by French musicians in the 1990s. It is a form of Euro disco and a popular strand of the late 1990s and 2000s European dance music scene. The defining characteristics of the sound are reliant on filter and phaser effects both on and alongside samples from late 1970s and early 1980s American or European disco tracks (or original hooks strongly inspired by such samples), causing thicker harmonic foundations than the genre's forerunners. Most tracks in this genre are in time and feature steady four on the floor beats in the tempo range of 110–130 beats per minute. Paul Leighton Johnson (January 11, 1971 – August 4, 2021) was an American house disc jockey and producer. He was known for his self-taught DJ style of house music, mentoring and inspiring younger producers, and for a series of singles, including his 1999 worldwide hit single "Get Get Down". Carlos Sosa (born November 5, 1969), known as DJ Sneak, is a Puerto Rican-born American DJ and record producer raised in Chicago, Illinois, United States. He is noted as being one of the second wave of Chicago house producers, (alongside Derrick Carter, Cajmere/Green Velvet, Gemini, James Curd and Paul Johnson) as well as a member of the vanguard of late-1990s United States house producers. Biography In 1983, Sneak moved to Chicago from Puerto Rico, where his early musical experiences and influences were rooted in salsa, merengue and Latin orchestras.
