''Crusade of Fire'' is an anthology edited by Katherine Kurtz. ''Crusade of Fire'' is the third anthology in the "Tales of the Knights Templar" series about the Knights Templars. It consists of eight different tales that concern the more mystical and mysterious side of the military religious order. These tales span from the actual period of the Knights Templar's existence to more contemporary myths. The previous anthologies in the series were ''Tales of the Knights Templar'' and ''One Crusade: More Tales of the Knights Templar''. Katherine Kurtz
Katherine Irene Kurtz (born October 18. 1944) is an American fantasy writer, author of sixteen historical fantasy novels in the ''Deryni'' series, as well as occult and urban fantasy. Resident in Ireland for over twenty years, she moved to Virginia in 2007. Early life and education Kurtz was born on October 18, 1944 in Coral Gables, Florida, where she also grew up. She secured a scholarship to study chemistry and graduated with a B.S. in chemistry from the University of Miami, later attending medical school for a year and taking an M.A. in Medieval History at UCLA. While pursuing her Masters, she worked for the Los Angeles Police Academy and began writing her first novels. She also worked in oceanography and television. Career Kurtz is best known for the Deryni novels and short stories. Patricia Kennealy-Morrison (born Patricia Kennely; March 4, 1946 – July 21, 2021) was an American author and journalist. Her published works include rock criticism, a memoir, and two series of science fiction/fantasy and murder mystery novels. Her books are evenly divided between the series ''The Keltiad'' and ''The Rock&Roll Murders: The Rennie Stride Mysteries''. As first a writer and then the editor-in-chief of ''Jazz & Pop'' magazine in the late 1960s, she was one of the first women rock critics. Kennealy-Morrison worked as an advertising copywriter, receiving two Clio nominations. Debra Doyle (November 30, 1952 – October 31, 2020) was an American author in multiple related fiction genres, including science fiction, fantasy, and mystery, for young adults and adults. Her works were co-written with her husband, James D. Macdonald. Life and career Doyle earned a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania with a dissertation on Old English poetry. Her first work written with Macdonald was "Bad Blood" in 1988. Their novel ''Knight's Wyrd'' was awarded the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children's Literature in 1992 and appeared on the New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age list in 1993.
