''Cruise'' is the fourteenth studio album by Japanese singer Akina Nakamori. It was released on 25 July 1989 under the Warner Pioneer label. The album includes lead single '' Liar''. It was released after Nakamori's suicide attempt. Background ''Cruise'' is the final studio album released under label Warner Pioneer. The album was recorded between 3 and 4 April 1989 in New York, at recording studio The Hit Factory. The album content is similar to her previously released studio album Crimson, which has only slow and medium melodies and singing with whisper voice (with the exception of Liar, which in the chorus part she used vibrato). The title track ''Akai Fushigi'' was once used in the earlier published track list of the studio album Fushigi. It's unknown whenever the melody line is same or different during that time. Akina Nakamori
is a Japanese Singing, singer and Actor, actress. She is one of the most popular and best-selling artists in Japan. Akina achieved national recognition after winning the 1981 season of the talent show ''Star Tanjō!''. Her debut single "Slow Motion (Akina Nakamori song), Slow Motion" was released to moderate success, peaking at number thirty on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart. Nakamori's popularity increased with the release of her follow-up single, "Shōjo A", which peaked at number five on the Oricon charts and sold over 390,000 copies. Kōji Makaino
is a Japanese pop music composer, arranger, and musician. He is the elder brother of composer Shunichi Makaino. Biography Makaino was born in the city of Toyohashi, in Aichi Prefecture. His father Noboru was a music-lover and amateur composer, and he got Kōji to become familiar with musical instruments. He, his father, and his brother played together as a tango band. After graduating from Aichi Prefectural Commercial High School in Toyohashi, he studied music at the Naomi College of Music before dropping out in 1967 join a group called "Blue Sharm." The group only issued four singles, and broke up in 1970. Since 1972, when he arranged for Hideki Saijo's album ''Chance wa Ichido'', he has worked in composition and arrangement. is a Japanese J-pop songwriter and guitarist. Biography Born in Hirosaki, Aomori Prefecture, Japan, Suzuki studied at the South Hirosaki High School. Suzuki was most active in the 1980s and wrote for many performers. Kōji Tamaki
is a Japanese singer-songwriter and actor. He has been well known as frontman of the rock band Anzen Chitai that debuted in 1982 and enjoyed a successful career, particularly during the 1980s. In 1993, he began his career as a solo artist, and since then he has experienced much critical acclaim. Widely regarded as one of the greatest Japanese vocalists, in 2014 he was ranked first by a panel of 200 experts for the best ever singing voice in Japan. Gorō Matsui
is a Japanese lyricist born 11 December 1957 in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, though he considers Tokyo to be his hometown. Beginning with participation in the Yamaha Popular Song Contests, he made his debut writing the lyrics for the 1981 Chage and Aska album . Matsui then began writing lyrics for groups such as Anzen Chitai, Kyosuke Himuro, and others, becoming one of the more popular lyricists for a variety of rock bands. He has now written the lyrics for over 2000 songs. Since the late 1980s, most of the lyrics for the music released by Anzen Chitai has been written by Matsui. The Hit Factory
The Hit Factory is a recording studio in New York City owned and operated by Troy Germano. History On March 6, 1975, Edward Germano, a singer, record producer, and one of the principal owners of the Record Plant Studios New York, purchased the Hit Factory from Jerry Ragavoy. At that time the Hit Factory studios were located at 353 West 48th Street and consisted of two studios, A2 and A6. Eventually, a third studio, A5, was added. These studios were active from 1975 to 1981. Germano incorporated the Hit Factory into a business, redesigned its studios, and created the logo it uses to this day.
