The 2023 Crown Jewel was the fifth Crown Jewel professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by the American company WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event took place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Mohammed Abdu Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the second Crown Jewel held at this venue after the 2021 event. It was the 10th event that WWE held in Saudi Arabia under a 10-year partnership in support of Saudi Vision 2030. Eight matches were contested at the event, including one on the Kickoff pre-show. In the main event, which was the main match from SmackDown, Roman Reigns defeated LA Knight to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Raw (WWE Brand)
Raw is a brand of the American professional wrestling promotion WWE that was established on March 25, 2002. Brands are divisions of WWE's roster where wrestlers are assigned to perform on a weekly basis when a brand extension is in effect. Wrestlers assigned to Raw primarily appear on the brand's weekly television program, ''Monday Night Raw'', also referred to simply as ''Raw''. The 2021 Crown Jewel was the third Crown Jewel professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) and livestreaming event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion's Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event took place on October 21, 2021, at Mohammed Abdu Arena on The Boulevard in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and was the first Crown Jewel to air on the livestreaming service Peacock. It was the sixth event that WWE held in Saudi Arabia under a 10-year partnership in support of Saudi Vision 2030. It was also WWE's first PPV event to be held outside the United States since the last Saudi Arabian event, Super ShowDown in February 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
