Crossways, Dorset
Crossways is a village and civil parish in the English county of Dorset. It lies east of the county town Dorchester. In the 2011 census the parish had a population of 2,267. In the early 1930s Crossways was a hamlet of scattered bungalows and cottages. At that time the Air Ministry acquired local heath and farmland to build an airfield. This airfield was completed in 1937 and was known briefly as RAF Woodsford, although it was renamed RAF Warmwell a year later. The Crossways, Toronto
The Crossways is a mixed-use residential/commercial complex in the west end of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located at the intersection of Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West. It stretches across most of a city block. History In 1971, developer Consolidated Building Corporation agreed to buy the four-acre site, home to a bread factory, from Corporate Foods (now Canada Bread). Architecture The complex consists of twin 29-storey (92 m) triangular brick towers, with a broad, terraced podium at their bases. One level of the podium contains an indoor mall. The Crossways was designed in the Brutalist style by architects Webb Zerafa Menkès Housden Partnership and built by Consolidated Building Corporation. It was completed in 1974 as a 111,480-square-metre (1.2 million square feet) mixed-use project. Crossways (Deathlands Novel)
Deathlands is a series of novels published by Gold Eagle Publishing. The first novel, ''Pilgrimage to Hell'', was first published in 1986. This series of novels was first written by Christopher Lowder, under the pen name ''Jack Adrian''. Lowder became ill after developing the plot and writing most of the book. Laurence James, under the pen name ''James Axler'' then finished the story. The series exists in both an episodic style and a series format. Some of the novels can be read out of order, while others are dependent on the previous release. There are also a few trilogy sets within the series.
