The Crossing of the Danube Cross ( ro, Crucea Trecerea Dunării) was a Decoration established by Prince Carol I of Romania by Royal Decree 617 on 23 March 1878 to award individuals for outstanding leadership and contributions in the Romanian War of Independence. The crossing of the Danube was one of the key events in the campaign, and it was one of the six events selected by Prince Carol to be immortalised in the six paintings commissioned from Johann Nepomuk Schönberg, and Austrian artist and war-correspondent. The Decoration was later awarded to very few individuals who were deemed to have proven great leadership. The Decoration was named after the Danube River where the Romanian Army fought the Ottoman Imperial Army. Bareta is a city and municipal council in the Mansa district, Punjab, Mansa district in Punjab, India, Southern Punjab, India. It is a small town that lies on the NH-148B. History Bareta is a small town in the southern part of the Indian state of Punjab. It is believed to be founded by Chauhan Rajputs 600 years ago, who resettled in area from Ganganagar area of Rajasthan. They were initially employed by Jalla Ranghar of nearby village Jalwera. Later on Chauhans established direct links with Delhi Kingdoms. Bareta got its name from a warrior Rajput "Bad-beta "who was marshall swordsman and fighter.He carved his own constituency of 13000 acres. Three more villages got established by his descendants i.e. Dyalpura, Bahadarpur, Kulrian .All five villages have Chauhan surname population who have now converted to Sikhism and are Jatt Sikhs now.
