In audio engineering, a fade is a gradual increase or decrease in the level of an audio signal. The term can also be used for film cinematography or theatre lighting in much the same way (see fade (filmmaking) and fade (lighting)). A Sound recording and reproduction, recorded song may be gradually reduced to silence at its end (fade-out), or may gradually increase from silence at the beginning (fade-in). Fading-out can serve as a recording solution for pieces of music that contain no obvious ending. Crossfade is an American rock band formed in Columbia, South Carolina, United States, in 1993. Before settling on the Crossfade name in 2002, the band had previously existed under the names The Nothing and Sugardaddy Superstar. As of 2019, their current lineup includes Ed Sloan on lead vocals and guitar, Les Hall on lead guitar, keyboard, and backing vocals, Mitch James on backing vocals and bass and Ryan Yerdon on drums. Since their formation, Crossfade has released three studio albums – their self-titled debut album in 2004, '' Falling Away'' in 2006, and '' We All Bleed'' in 2011. ''Crossfade'' is the debut album by American rock band Crossfade. It was released on April 13, 2004 by Columbia. The album reached number 41 on the ''Billboard'' 200 and spawned three singles: "Cold", "So Far Away", and "Colors". It was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting sales of over a million copies in that country. Background It was released on April 13, 2004, five years after they were formed. The album was also released as a DualDisc CD that includes extra content not found on the original, standard edition. The album was certified Platinum in the United State The singles from this album helped launch the band to mainstream success. Crossfade (Swedish Band)
Crossfade is a Swedish rock-pop band; its core members are Lars Hallbäck, Richard Stenström and Göran Edman. The music, according to allmusic is being described as a blend of rock and pop. As stated by The Midland Rocks, "Crossfade don’t succumb to the saminess or pale imitation syndromes that afflicts so many bands in this genre." Adding to the Crossfade sound are well known musicians like singer Göran Edman, (known from Yngwie Malmsteen, Brazen Abbot), drummer Per Lindvall (ABBA, A-ha), bass player Sven Lindvall (A-ha, Kullrusk) and saxophone player Wojtek Goral (Stevie Wonder, Peter Getz) among others. The first album "White on Blue" was being released in 2004 on the German label MTM and in Japan by Nippon Crown.
