Croatian Radio
Croatian Radio ( hr, Hrvatski radio) is the official broadcasting service of Croatia. Founded on May 15, 1926 as ''Zagreb Radio'', it's the first radio station in all of Southeast Europe. Part of Croatian Radiotelevision, it operates three national stations, several regional branches and an international service. The broadcast, which began with just one channel that could be listened to only in Zagreb and northern Croatia, today makes 16 radio channels sent out on FM, DAB+, satellite and the Internet. On May 25, 2012, the television and radio program archive and a collection of music production were given the status of Croatia's cultural heritage. ''Hrvatska radiotelevizija'' (abbr. HRT), or Croatian Radiotelevision, is Croatia's public broadcasting company. It operates several radio and television channels, over a domestic transmitter network as well as satellite. HRT is divided into three joint companies – Croatian Radio (), Croatian Television () and Music Production (), which includes three orchestras (Symphony, Jazz and Tamburitza) and a choir. The founder of HRT is the Republic of Croatia which exercises its founder's rights through the Croatian Government. Croatian Radio (then Radio Zagreb) was founded on 15 May 1926. Učka
The Učka ([], it, Monte Maggiore) is a mountain range in western Croatia. It rises behind the Opatija riviera, on the eastern side of the Istrian peninsula. It forms a single morphological unit together with the Ćićarija range which stretches from the Bay of Trieste to Rijeka. The International Broadcasting Union (IBU; official name in french: Union Internationale de Radiophonie, UIR, modern translations in french: Union Internationale de Radiodiffusion/Union internationale de radio-télévision, UIR) was an alliance of European radio broadcasters, established on 3–4 April 1925. The union had its headquarters in Geneva. The UIR aimed to resolve international problems of broadcasting. Radio Prague International ( cs, Český rozhlas 7 – Radio Praha) is the official international broadcasting station of the Czech Republic. Broadcasting first began on August 31, 1936 near the spa town of Poděbrady. Radio Prague broadcasts in six languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Czech and Russian. It broadcasts programmes about the Czech Republic on satellite and on the Internet. In 2021, Rospotrebnadzor blocked the website of Radio Prague International in Russia due to a report about Jan Palach from 2001. EUREF Permanent Network (EPS) is a European network of more than 300 continuously operating GNSS reference stations with precisely known coordinates referenced to the ETRS89. EPS is the key instrument in the maintenance of ETRS89 geodetic datum. The EPN stations collect continuously the observation data from high accuracy multi-GNSS receivers. Ivo Stern
Dr. Ivo Stern (24 December 1889 – 1961) was Croatian lawyer, writer, journalist, director and founder of the "Zagreb Radiostation" (now Croatian Radiotelevision). Stern was born to a wealthy Jewish family on 24 December 1889 in Zagreb. He studied and graduated at the Faculty of Law at the University of Zagreb in 1913. After graduation, he practiced the law for a while. After World War I, in which he participated as a soldier in the Austro-Hungarian Army, Stern lived in Vienna. In 1926 as the head of the Zagreb group of bankers and industrials, despite the opposition from Belgrade, Stern founded the "Zagreb Radiostation". Stern was first director and major shareholder of the "Zagreb Radiostation". He was also the program editor until 1938. Stern was close friend of Croatian writer Milan Begović.
