Croatian Cricket Federation
The Croatian Cricket Federation ( hr, Hrvatski Kriket Savez) is the official governing body of the sport of cricket in Croatia. The current head office is located in Zagreb, the federation having been founded in 2000 and officially registered in 2004. The Croatian Cricket Federation is Croatia's representative at the International Cricket Council as an affiliate member since 2001. It is also a member of the European Cricket Council and provisional member of the Croatian Olympic Committee. In 2017, became an associate member In July 2019, the International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended the Croatian Cricket Federation, with the team barred from taking part in ICC events. In July 2021, Croatian Cricket Federation's frozen status was lifted by ICC, upon the receipt of appropriate paperwork. This enables Croatia to take part in ICC events from now on. A sports governing body is a sports organization that has a regulatory or sanctioning function. Sports governing bodies come in various forms and have a variety of regulatory functions. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. The European Cricket Council (ECC) is an international body which oversaw cricket in European countries other than the Test-playing cricketing nation of England, the only European Full Member of the ICC for the duration of the ECC's existence. The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The COC organizes Croatia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. It also organizes the Croatian contingent at smaller events such as the Mediterranean Games. The International Cricket Council (ICC) was founded at Lord's on 15 June 1909 as the Imperial Cricket Conference, with Australia, England, and South Africa as its founding members.
