Croatia National Football Team Results (2010–2019)
This is a list of the Croatia national football team results from 2010 to 2019. Croatia missed out on the 2010 FIFA World Cup, but then qualified for UEFA Euro 2012, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and UEFA Euro 2016, making it to the second round in the latter. Then, at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the team achieved the best result in its history: it finished second and won the silver medal as it reached the final and lost to France. Afterwards, Croatia entered League A of the inaugural 2018–19 edition of the UEFA Nations League. Based on its final ranking the team would have been relegated to League B, but a revamp of the competition's format meant it remained in League A for the following season. The Croatia national football team ( hr, Hrvatska nogometna reprezentacija) represents Croatia in international Association football, football matches. It is governed by the Croatian Football Federation (HNS), the governing body for football in Croatia. It is a member of UEFA in Europe and FIFA in global competitions. The team's colors reference two national symbols: the Croatian checkerboard and the Flag of Croatia, country's tricolour. They are colloquially referred to as the ('Blazers') and ('Checkered Ones'). Jan Vertonghen
Jan Bert Lieve Vertonghen (born 24 April 1987) is a Belgian professional footballer who plays for Belgian club Anderlecht and the Belgium national team. Mainly a central defender, he can also play as a left-back. Vertonghen began his senior career at Dutch club Ajax in 2006 and totalled 220 games and 28 goals for them across all competitions, serving as their captain from 2011 to 2012. He won two Eredivisie and two KNVB Cup titles during his time at the club, and in 2012 he was named Dutch Footballer of the Year. The Royal Dutch Football Association (, ; KNVB ) is the governing body of football in the Netherlands. Bernie Raymond Blom, known as Kevin Blom (born 21 February 1974 in Gouda), is a Dutch football referee, who officiates for FIFA and UEFA. He has refereed in the Eerste Divisie, the Eredivisie and the UEFA Champions League. His home town is Alphen aan den Rijn. His first match in professional football was the one between Go Ahead Eagles and Helmond Sport on 17 October 2003. Mate Bilić (born 23 October 1980) is a Croatian retired footballer who played as a striker. During his professional career he played mainly in Spain – where he arrived at the age of 21 – representing five different clubs. He amassed La Liga totals of 124 games and 22 goals over the course of five seasons for Sporting de Gijón and Zaragoza, as well as 197 games and 66 goals in the Segunda División. Gianluca Rocchi (; born 25 August 1973) is an Italian former football referee. Career Rocchi became a referee in 1990 and officiated in 38 matches in three Serie C seasons starting from 2000. He was later promoted to the higher series, making his debut in U.S. Lecce-Reggina Calcio (16 May 2004).
